First off, onenutoneder, E-4 is not an NCO its a lower enlisted. E-5 is the start of the NCO ranks.
Now for the OP.
You will not be paying taxes.
If you are married you get Family Seperation - $250
Hazardous Duty Pay - $150
and Hostile Fire Pay - $225
So $375 Single/$625 Married. And no taxes.
Oh and Per Diem will be paid when you return Stateside, I believe it is at aroud $3.00 a day right now.
*EDIT*
I was speaking for the Army.
If you saw the original post in which I was speaking, the person was reffering to the Army, saying an E-4 was an NCO, Smarty.
And yes, I did know that a Cpl. is a Jr Grade NCO in the Marines.

Do you have dependents? If so then you will qualify for Family Sep ($250), You will also see Haz Pay $225 and Save Pay $100. You will not lose your BAS either, you will keep it while there. It will be Federal Tax free (taken out then returned beginning of the month). But Social Security, Medicare, State Tax (may get refunded), SGLI, FSGLI, AFRH, etc.. will all be deducted. Save Pay may not be paid out until you return home as well. Each command is different.

i was not married and got about 1100 every two weeks so 2200 in a month and was there for 6 months so $13,200. If you are married then you will make a little more. and this was a year and a half ago so...... they have recieved pay raises since then.
and for the voiceofgod... E-4 in the marine corps is an NCO smarty... but im sure you knew that right..

base pay doesn't. only certain allowances kick in, such as Family Separation, if authorized($250/month) plus additionals like HFP/IDP/Save Pay..around $225/month. Plus for ever month you are in a designated combat zone, your base pay is tax free.

Well, you'll probably get hazard pay. But, if you're getting BAS or BAQ, you don't get that anymore because you're living on base. But, you're overseas, so none of your pay is taxed. And the big thing is that there's nothing to spend money on anyway. So, everything you make goes right into the bank.

Not enough to get stuck in that mess counting on losers like the first guy who answered this question to watch your back when Osama comes sneakin' around. Just become a deserter like plenty of other smart soldiers have done. Go to Iraq and follow illegal orders and you could end up being tried for war crimes by the same bunch of losers who gave the orders in the first place.
