My family and I have 7 hours in LA on the way home from a vacation. We arrive in LA at 4pm and our next connection is not until 11.15 pm, international departure. If it matters it happens to be a Friday in mid January.

We are looking for something we can do for the 5 or so hours that that would give us. Ideally something near to the airport as I don't want to risk being stuck in traffic and missing the flight.

2 Adults + 1 8yr old + 1 4yr old.

Perhaps even somewhere we can go and have dinner and have a walk around might be ok.

Thanks in advance.

Jay

I work at LAX. When you arrive you will be on the lower level. Each terminal has a Travelers Aid Booth close to the baggage claim area. They have a book with lots of fun things to do between flights. And transportation is easy. You can go to Hollywood, Santa Monica, Venice Beach, a mall, the movies, etc. Check with them. If the booth is empty, go to the next terminal. There are 8 terminals and 8 T.A. booths.

The kids would enjoy Santa Monica Pier. Another choice is Hollywood Blvd. It is a little dirty sometimes but the Holloywood walk of Fame and the Chinese Theater is there. Disney owns the El Capitan theater, which is currently showing Enchanted. This is a great theater and would provide a pleasant memory. This is in the same area

Well considering you will be in traffic for at least two hours just to get to a restaraunt....you wont be able to do much.
