James 2:14
"What good is it, my brothers, if a man claims to have faith but has no deeds? Can such faith save him?
James 2:24
"You see that a person is justified by what he does and not by faith alone."
James 2:26
"As the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without deeds is dead."
Why are people willing to leave out what has been taught? Relegating baptism to position of being just for show is a man made doctrine that should be examined more closely. Baptism is not a requirement of law that earns any special merit, but it most certainly is the practice we were told to expect and perform.
Through faith Noah built the ark and that ark became the mechanism that provided salvation from the flood. The action proved the faith. If Noah had left out any step of God's plan for him he would have perished in the flood. He was not saved from the flood by his own merit. He had faith and acted in obedience. Simply telling God he believed His words to be true would not have been enough.
If you have not been baptized, why waste time here? There is a much more important task to perform, one of obedience, a task through which the Holy Spirit will find you pure and worthy of making His abode.
The word of God needs to be examined a lot more closely before blindly accepting the word of man.
None of us are in the position of the thief on the cross next to Jesus. That man could not receive the Holy Spirit prior to the resurrection, just like all of the generations that preceeded him.

If you say "I do" before you put the ring on, are you married? If you walk around with an empty finger after that, are you married? Yes, but it's as if you are embarrassed by your vows and your relationship. Can you wear a wedding ring and not be married? Sure, but you are lying to the world about who you are.
Can I wear a wedding ring but be unfaithful? Ooooh, now there's a question that the OT prophets railed against. when it came to forgetting the promise of circumcision. When you read the Bible, you see the fact that there was no one who was not a Jew who was not circumcized. And there was no question as to who they belonged to (at least in theory). Now let's apply the same principle to baptism, and why I believe it replaces circumcision. Read the baptism passages in this way, and then you should be able to answer your own question. You should take this rite just as seriously as the Jews did their covenant. And you are charged with not forgetting your baptism, for the Lord searches your heart. "Wear the ring" and be baptized. It means something.

No. You need to be baptized to get into heaven.
Even Jesus who was perfect, he had no sins to confess and he was the Son of God and in all ways following God's commandments, he still needed to get baptized. Baptism is much more than just a symbolic act, it is a covenant between you and God that you have turned your life away from sin, to never do it anymore. It is required that you first confess and accept Jesus as your Lord, and then when you are committed to following in his ways, you are baptized to SEAL this COVENANT - to sin no more.
John 3: 5
Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
Mark 16: 2
16 He that believeth AND is baptized shall be saved; but he that believeth not shall be damned.
Acts 2:38
...Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
Mormons believe in baptism for the dead:
Peter 4: 6
For for this cause was the gospel preached also to them that are dead, that they might be judged according to men in the flesh, but live according to God in the spirit.

Yes, then you're saved! No. who told you that?
Baptisim is optional. You get baptised (as in dunked in the slimy tepid water at the front of the church behind the pulpit and alter lol) to basically 'follow' in Jesus' footsteps. It's like, an optional obeidience thing. You don't HAVE to get baptised.
There are two kinds of baptism:
1st (Matt 3:11; Mark 1:8; Luke 3:16 etc) dunked in the pool of water *woo-hoo!*
2nd (according to acts 2:4) 'gifts of the spirit' with the famed
"shhheeeeee cameininahonda idroveinina mitsubishi" type stuff LmAo.
*grins* HAhaHAhaHA *tee-hee*
But both of those are optional. The only requirement is that you confess your sins, accept Jesus Christ as Saviour/Lord and believe and well, that's basically it. It really is that simple!!! God knows your heart!! A-B-C: accept, believe, confess and call it a day! < but mean it from your heart! don't just pay him lip service!> and that's it. Really!! ♥

Flaming,
Baptism is NOT just symbolic. If one reads and studies the scriptures they find that every person who became a Christian in the New Testament was baptized. It was NEVER said to be "SYMBOLIC" in the Bible. Those people are adding to the scriptures and that is against GOD'S WORD. CHRIST will make the final Judgment, we will NOT! HE will therefore, make tht decision and no one else can legitimately say who is or is not "SAVED". I certainly would never tell anyone that they were going to heaven without CHRIST saying so, would you?? Have a wonderful day and a glorious Holiday with your friends and family.
Thanks,

Yes. If you confess and and accept then instantly die you are good. Baptism in water is symbolic and good. Then you want to baptized by the Holy Spirit so God's awesome power could surround you every second of every day in a more intense manner.

According to the Bible, yes. Baptism (works) is not a requirement for salvation. There are a number of Christian denominations that do not believe in Baptism at all for the Christian church. Such as the Salvation Army.

Baptism is needed for salvation for those to whom the Gospel has been proclaimed and have had the potential for soliciting for this sacrament. (Mark. sixteen:sixteen) The Church does no longer understand of any potential different than Baptism that assures get admission to into eternal beatitude. it fairly is why she takes care to no longer forget the venture she has won from the Lord to make certain that each and every physique who would be baptised are "reborn of water and the Spirit". Why Baptism ? besides the shown fact that it fairly is suited to each and every physique, unique sin does no longer have the character of a private fault in any of Adam's descendants. it fairly is a deprivation of unique holiness and justice, yet human nature has no longer been completely corrupted. it fairly is wounded interior the organic powers suited to it; concern to lack of know-how, suffering, and the domination of loss of life; and vulnerable to sin - a tendency to evil it fairly is named "concupiscence". Baptism, by offering the life of Christ's grace, erases unique sin and turns a individual returned in the direction of God, however the outcomes for nature, weakened and vulnerable to evil, persist in guy and summon him to religious conflict. EDIT...i'm surprised at dissimilar the solutions you have become. Why are the human beings who spend their finished life reading and examining the Bible asserting Baptism isn't needed for salvation? it fairly is needed, it fairly is interior the Bible. additionally, many don't understand the reason of Baptism interior the 1st place, are you able to have faith this?
