Interesting question. You have to read chapter two of the first of the Bible to get that information. Chapter one says that God created humankind in His image, male and female He created them. That is just the point...both sexes comprise the imagine of God. Chapter one is the summary statement, the preamble, the prologue...the point is that humanity bears God's image and humanity is responsible to it Creator. Chapter two is the detail. Specifically, why the males first...who knows. God does what He does, He asks us to trust Him in what He does.

The Bible was written, edited and copied by men - so you would think women were left out...
Why call mankind mankind? Or use the term 'man' when it is meant to mean 'humankind'...

Note - at the time of the scriptures - women were treated as 2nd or 3rd class citizens. Such that having sex with women was considered unclean, unless it was for procreation.
Also note - homosexuals were the norm for men in the clergy because of the above views - the environment then, encouraged this act.

Woman could have been first. Then to make the prototype of man, there were a couple of parts changes. The specs called for an additional detail to the genitalia, and for removal of half the brain.

Apparently, according to QI last night, we are all descended from one common male and female. The females arrived around 150,000 years ago and the males 80,000. Don't know how they can know this for certain, amd it doesn't make any sense to me but there you go. Also, given that all foetuses start off female (which is why men have nipples) it is more likely (if Adam and Eve existed) that Eve would have been first.

Who can know the mind of God?

BTW, God almost didn't create woman. Read about it in Genesis 2.

In this case, man made God is his own image, and since men took the secrets away from the women, they did all they could/can to suppress any importance of the female gender in their book and in their teachings..
They are hypocrites, history has proven that...

The first was merely a prototype and didn't function right--the second was the real deal after much field testing research and development.
