He had a black dot in centre of each eye is that right? As the fire alarm went of at hospital as photos was finished being taken i couldndt get results. And my son dont due to go there again until June next year. Worried about it...

go back asap. a lot of eye problems can lead to blindless or permanent reduction in sight if left untreated. even if its nothing its better safe than sorry.

I would suggest writing or telephoning, asking for the discussion that you would normally have expected at the end on an uninterrupted visit.

You should not worry especially over the loss of time. If Retinitis Pigmentosa is the main problem, there is no active intervention that hase been delayed by the fire alarm cutting the visit short.

The site below has a diagram of an eye with RP, and a brief explanation of the condition.

A black spot in the exact centre of each photo is not RP, but is almost certainly an artefact from the camera which can occur photographing a short-sighted eye.
Black specks do appear, but scattered across the retina in a distinctive shape and pattern, giving the condition its name.

Beyond considering boosting Vitamin A and E intake
(this should not be done without professional advice, because vitamin A is potentially toxic), there is, I'm afraid, no active treatment for RP at present.

The condition is progressive, but in many cases only progresses slowly. The regular visits will ensure best visual correction is provided, as well as a chance to offer advice on best lighting and other adaptations to make the best of the vision.

Best wishes.

You could call them for the results, and ask about your concerns. That is what I would do. If you can't get any answers then make another appointment to get your answers.
