although i believe that God is not real, the message... is.
love and kindness, etc...
the "abolishment" of God would mean that the message would be lost as well. The world needs this message, and if the only way it will survive is if there is a God to believe in, then so be it.
i I don't have to believe in God to understand the teachings of the bible, and i think if people can start realizing this and stop arguing about how real God is, and who's right and wrong, and just focus on the morals of the bible, the world would be a better place.
The real purpose of the bible has been lost over time, and has become a never ending war,
respect other religions... while keeping your own, and live your life, practicing what is preached.
~~~What does it matter who you believe in? as long as the message is spread?
Morality was not invented by religions, they merely take credit for it.
Why Christians Must Steal From Secular Morality:
http://www.caseagainstfaith.com/submissions/steal_morality.htm
[Excerpt]
Christians must steal their moral rules from secular morality. They have no choice, as the Bible does not offer a moral system, it only offers a series of contradictory commands and a supposed threat of punishment in the "afterlife" for not following them - a punishment that is given equally to all violators - whatever the sin.
The Bible does nothing and can do nothing towards inculcating moral behavior on its own. Christians must steal from secular moral systems, and then merely graft their 'God threats' on top of this moral system. This is necessary. And the reason for this is simple: there is no morality in the Bible and there can be no morality in the Bible, because the Bible holds that 1) ALL 'sins' are equivalent (destroying any moral sense) AND 2) all moral behavior is immaterial, because works cannot save a person, AND finally all people are damned from birth.
In reality, Christians realize that some actions are more moral than others. They realize that moral actions exist in a hierarchy, and that rape is far worse than stealing a pencil. Yet the Bible holds that all 'sins' are equal, as all deserve the same punishment.
Christians also realize that humans can be moral agents... they expect moral behavior from others, and they view their own children as something to value. Yet the Bible holds that man is worthless, that he cannot be a moral agent, and that his sole salvation comes from grace. However, since Christians realize, implicitly, that all of these these points are obviously, prima facie false, they must steal from secular systems, that hold that 1) man obviously has a value 2) all 'sins' are obviously not equivalent and 3) a person cannot be held to be doing anything 'immoral' without intent.
sounds like the new world order to me.
the bible teaches that the heart of man is wicked. i have yet to meet a new age person who isn't completely full of pride, who try to cleverly mask it.
http://www.100prophecies.org/page6.htm
there is a devil, there is a God, there is sin, and there are angels from heaven. I believe that in this generation an antichrist will rise up and fool everyone into thinking he is the answer to all of their problems.
The only people prepared to deal with an antichrist before the real answer (Jesus) comes back to rule and reign are real bible beleiving born again Christians.
it's becoming increasingly obvious that the world is getting ready for a new world order, maybe that's one of the reasons infowars.com, theedgeam.com, and thousands of conspiracy theorists are gaining credibility/popularity.
the more people sin, the more problems they have in life. The bible is the only holy book that teaches about a way out of that.
The world veering away from religion, Christianity and into a state of godlessness is exactly what the bible says is going to happen right before the anti christ takes over.
How can anyone be that blinded when every biblical prophecy has or is unfolding before our eyes (http://www.100prophecies.org/page6.htm).
No i do not agree. and customary off there is not any more a lot of a stem cellular debate. there is an embryonic stem cellular debate. each and each and every of the successes so a recommendations have come from adult stem cells not embryonic. they're hopeful that embryonic stem cells can interior the suitable triumph over the concerns it faces yet have not yet. And in case you look further on the stem cellular debate previous each and each and every of the words being thrown round. you'll detect what's fairly at heart is the placement of cloning embryonic stem cells. So fairly some politicians really say look were having each and each and every of the fulfillment in an are it isn't ethically questionable and failure on the quite a few component, lets stick with what were doing and not in any respect furnish funding to the component desirous to clone. it isn't a decision of loopy bible thumping fundamentalist attempting to damage each and each and all people's social gathering for no reason.
Romans 1:18-22
18 But God shows his anger from heaven against all sinful, wicked people who push the truth away from themselves. 19 For the truth about God is known to them instinctively. God has put this knowledge in their hearts. 20 From the time the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky and all that God made. They can clearly see his invisible qualities--his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse whatsoever for not knowing God.
21 Yes, they knew God, but they wouldn't worship him as God or even give him thanks. And they began to think up foolish ideas of what God was like. The result was that their minds became dark and confused. 22 Claiming to be wise, they became utter fools instead.
Why do you need a fictitous character to be a good person? Why do people need to be bribed w/ a reward to act like decent human beings? i dont believe in god but i still do things for other people, try to be considerate, because i have morals. I dont need someone to tell me how to act because i can think for myself and know right and wrong w/o needing to get it apporved by a group of dilluded people. The real purpose of the bible was to control the masses and give people a crutch for grief. I can handle it when someone dies or something bad happens w/o needing to blame something, and i am just fine w/ being worm food when i die.
Why cant the worlds message still be do unto others? Why do they need santa claus's neighbor to dictate their every move?
I agree with you for the most part. I'm reading Karen Armstrong's A History of God right now. She asks the fairly thought-provoking question of, Is our concept of God still useful? And if not how or to what extent is it going to change so that it becomes useful? I doubt the concept of God is going to just fade away. But it is likely to evolve. All we can do is decide in what meaningful ways will our understanding grow and evolve.
Peace to you.
There are at least 3,000 different beliefs in a deity on the planet Earth - which one "God" are you referring to? Maybe we ought to teach morality instead - stealing is wrong, murder is wrong, etc. Some of the old religious ideas were based on sound reasoning, and should NOT be abandoned. The superstitious nonsense, however, should be.
"Religion" what a wonderful word. It means "re" = to do something again & again, & "ligare" = to bind up, to tie, to restrict. So religion = to bind, to tie up, to restrict & to keep on doing it.
