Well, if you want to save about $300 bucks and do it yourself, then I can help you. First off, black never washes out, can never be dyed out, or fade out. It can only come out by bleach or color remover.
The best way to remove the color is by buying the Salon Care color remover by Sally Beauty, this has no bleach and is much safe than using bleach. This can take up to 4 boxes of the color remover to take out all the color, each box is $13.
After this process, your hair will either be red/orange or green, based on whatever color base the black had. If your hair is orange, then purchase a ash/green based dye (the best), or a blue/violet. If your hair is green, then purchase a red based dye (the best), or get a gold. Oh yeah, and DON'T EVER BUY BOX DYE! Sorry, but this is THE worst stuff for your hair!
If you need any help, have any questions, or want some tips, feel free to email me!

it can. Not for the ameature though. You would have to strip the old color off. The best and safest way is to mix up a bottle of hair bleach with shampoo (a shampoo cap). Lather it up and watch for the color to lift, keep about an inch from the scalp til the end because your body heat will lift this area much faster. You will need to check the hair by spraying a small section with water and rubbing the shampoo and bleach product off with a towel. The orange stage is the toughest to pass, takes longer. Then you will need a filler prior to applying you new color. Consult a professional or sales professional at the beauty supply on which filler and what color.
You cannot simply remove the black to your natural color, you will have to apply the new color you want after you remove the black.
I was a corrective colour specialist when I worked in the salon. very difficult for the unpro! Let me know if I can help ferther.

Of course it can come out. Try doing gradual highlights so your hair doesn't get as damaged. Make sure if you are doing the highlights yourself, to only highlight the black hair not your natural hair at the roots. Your hair will likely end up sort of an auburn color. If you don't like the red in your hair, try toning it with a light or mediun ash brown semi-permant color. If you want to go lighter, wait 6 weeks and highlight again.
If you want to go blond in a day or something drastic, I would suggest going to a hair salon because the products are much better for your hair and you won't end up with 'orange' hair.

hi, i'm a hairstylist. Getting your hair striped of color isn't undesirable. that's good that you get it performed by technique of a pro and keep it conditioned. in case you position hair dye on black hair it is going to,on the most, tint it not replace the color. you want to bypass to a salon or hair college and get it lightened. in case you don't need to pay an excellent variety of money for it, bypass to a beauty college close to you and get it performed. that's more low-cost and the instructors received't enable you to get tousled. in the adventure that they imagine the coed will decrease to rubble, the instructor will end them and do it themselves. that's a lot- cosmetology instructors are the proper stylists there are! i'm hoping this helps!

It won't come out if it is out-of-the-box black. I did that once, and I tried bleaching it to get rid of the black. It really had no effect at all. That black dying is extremely hard to get rid of. So, either grow it out, even though that will take a really long time. Or, go to a barber and pay the extra money to get them to bleach it. If you bleach it yourself, your scalp would HURT and it would be wasted money.
Hope this helped! :)

Yes, it can come out. They have dyes now that will take the color out as you want it to. Someone at the drugstore or Sallys Beauty Supply should be able to answer any questions you have when you buy it. My grand daughter is normal dark brown and she goes from brown to blond to red etc. We never know what color she will show up with next.

There are things that will help remove dye from your hair but black is a b*tch to get rid of. Get a professional for the best results and get a good one.

It will eventually come out, but not for a while. I'd either just leave it and let it go back to it's natural color (if you're more patient), or I'd go get my hair a different color.

if it says permanent on the box the only way to change it is to bleach your hair and to dye it another color...you can buy bleaching kits right next to the hair dye at almost any store
