When idling, it only sputters a little. With hard excel. its really bad. It has 130,000 miles on it.

Also, when I use my heater, I lose coolant although there is no coolant leaking inside the truck. I notice my windows are fogged up a lot since this started.

This is just a guess... but you might check your oil...not for the level but the condition. You may have blown a head gasket. If you have then your oil will look like a chocolate milkshake. If you find this to be the case you shouldn't drive the Durango anymore till this is repaired. I may be way off base here but it's one of the first things I would check if I were experiencing the same symptoms and it were my vehicle.

there's a chance you may have a bad heater core causing it to fog the windows up and you could also be loosing coolant through a blown head gasket also, that would cause the sputtering your hearing in the running of it,one way to find out is have a pressure check done on it this will tell if the cooling system has any leaks in it,that would be the only way to find out for sure, good luck on it.

There could be one of three things wrong with your durango

1. It could be the Heater Core but i would put this at the bottom of the list because it would most likely not cause the sputtering and acceleration problems.

2. It could be a gasket probably either your one of your head gaskets(could be leaking into your oil or into the combustion chamber causing white smoke to come out if your tailpipe) or the gasket on your intake.

3. Could be that it is a combination of both a gasket leak and a heater core leak

If your windows are fogging up inside when you use the heater/defroster, your heater core is leaking. You may not see any coolant inside the vehicle but you will eventually smell an odor that you don't quite recognize, that is antifreeze/water mix. Just changed out heater core on full size Dodge van.

What are you thinking over heating? Is the interior thermostat going into the crimson? If that is not then that is only heat, not over heating. even if if that is over heating, there are some issues to earnings. sometime while the engine is heat, initiate it up and pass away it in park. that is going to warmth up and while the thermometer is interior the middle of the working temperature variety, the water pump could desire to be pumping. Squeeze the great rubber hose the the two enters or exist the radiator. that is going to likely be very company and warm and experience like there is water shifting by it very straight away. If not, you have unfavorable coolant stream. additionally if the water is flowing in the process the radiator, the cooling fan could desire to come on. If each little thing is working exact, the fan could desire to be turning on working for a couple of minutes and then shutting off. even if if that is on consistently, the engine could desire to be working too warm. even if if that is in no way approaching, then the fan is desires restore. My wager is that each and one and all of those issues are working high-quality. likely you have yet another subject like too plenty weight interior the automobile, too plenty debris on your radiator, or something it is inflicting your engine to run wealthy. too plenty gasoline interior the gasoline air mixture could desire to be led to by potential of a foul O2 sensor or Engine temp sensor or Mass air pass Sensor. All of those could desire to have your verify engine mild on.
