I have the '07 version, it came with my new laptop, and so far I have two problems with it. One, everytime I turn it on, it asks for an activation code that is supposed to be on a cd. My computer came with it, I have no key, and it's honestly an annoying process and it takes a minute or so just to get it to 'X' off of the activation key. It says I will have limited use of features until I enter the code, which I do not have, it's frustrating to say the least.

More recently, as in within the past few hours, it completely locked every file I had, I was working on a story, coding, and multiple other important things. I cannot type, remove anything, or anything. All options under Home, Review, everything, it's blanked out since it is 'locked'. It is extremely annoying, as I was not finished with many of the files, and can find no way to unlock them, and I am far too frustrated to start over on scratch, just so that everytime I save and turn the computer off, so it'll lock up. Fixable?

I honestly did not want to buy the cd at all. Mword isn't cheap, I babysit for money, so I'm not loaded, and don't want to waste my 'santa' gifts on that.
If I have to buy one, I will, but is there any possible way to unlock it?

You're right, it says my 'application' has run out. Which ticks me off as I paid quite a pretty penny for this machine... -sigh- Guess I have no choice but to buy Mword now, con artists, what's the price range? I know they get pricey.

sounds like u have a trial version of windows word which i find hard to believe, but in any case if it's a trial version then u have to purchase the key for full version and your trial time may have run out; most trials are 60 days.

You need to do a microsoft office installation. Get a CD and install the Office files and you should be okay. Speaking from experience
