I have expeirenced some really bad anxiety while high. My heart will race! I think to much. I get really tense. I can't breath properly, i yawn alot. I get paranoid.

But some weed, made me feel good & happy. But that was rare. Its usally an uncomfortable feeling.

Before I ever tried weed, I was really happy & I never had any anxiety. So im guessing its from smoking weed. I dont smoke at all anymore, because i have realized the weed is causing it. But now I feel like im stuck with the anxiety. I wanna get help for it. But i'm afraid to tell a doctor, that i think i got the anxiety from smoking weed. I dont want to get into trouble by telling a doctor. But i feel i should explain to them honestly why I feel the way i do.

Should I tell the doctor that i think my anxiety has come from trying weed??

And does anybody else have the same feelings from smoking?

Only answer if you are serious & offer help.
I know its illegal..but im not here to be lectured on that.
just want some answers.

I havent smoked in almost 5 months actually. Im a really happy person most of the time. I honestly feel like the anxiety came from pot. I never once had any of the crazy feelings i listed above while not on pot or before i tried pot. So it must be from smoking.

Sometimes I really enjoy being high, but since most of the expeirence is bad. I dont do it. My friends all do it too..& it gets on my nerves sometimes because they smoke out the car & i dont wanna get panic attacks from the weed. But i dont wanna say anything to my friends..i always crack the window tho lol ) Ill get thru this. Thanks for your help guys, i really do apriciate it.

That is totally what happened to me. I used to smoke it everyday. Yes, marijuana DOES cause anxiety and depression. I still struggle with it. I have a lot of social anxiety. It also made me feel heart racing, tired, paranoia. It seemed like at first it was a great high, but then as it got to be chronic use, it started having the negative effects & just wasn't the same anymore. Different weed does give different highs, I think some is more pure. Believe me, the doc won't be shocked by the pot use, very common, they've heard it before. They are not allowed to say a word because of the privacy laws, it's totally safe to tell doc if you feel the need to. I've thought of getting med also, but I've heard it's a long road getting to the right med, dosage, etc. I've heard good things about Paxil.

I have been smoking marijuana for six years now and occasionally even I get anxious and paranoid. This is usually attributed to your state of mind. I have never felt like I had this life figured out completely. The best thing that you can do is either A) quit smoking marijuana or B) do what I've done and learn to turn that anxiety into an opportunity to think about your world in a realistic way. Those who haven't experienced this kind of high won't understand what I mean, and may even attempt to put you down for even trying it. After your anxious experience i'm sure you know exactly what I mean, though. You're feeling like life has gotten too real, you're feeling like your ego is taking a hit. This is not necessarily a bad thing, sometimes marijuana has a way of showing you that the paths you are taking in life are not correct, be it friendships that aren't true, aspirations that aren't valid, or a lifestyle that just generally doesn't fit you that your sober self has forced upon your true self. Don't fret, if you can't harness this power you can always quit smoking marijuana, it isn't addictive.

Okay its good you stopped smoking immediately when you noticed your anxiety...I've never heard of a case where someone felt anxiety from smoking weed maybe its just not your thing and you never know half the stuff dealers put in it when they give it to you, if you are really worried and paranoid though SEE THE DOCTOR!!!! Just remember if your really scared about seeing a doc...weed stays in your system for a month so you can see the doctor in a month after your clean and that will just make you feel more secure because the doc can give you a drug test that will turn up clean...but its better to see one now because I honestly don't feel your doctor will do anything if you speak the truth...as long as your not addicted to it you can get past the anxiety by not smoking it or thinking about it...
GOOD LUCK

There is such a thing as "Cannabis Induced Anxiety Disorder" listed in the DSM-IV (diagnostic and statistical manual of mental disorders).

Stop smoking weed for a while and see if you stop having anxiety.

A lot of people who smoke weed report being "paranoid"--that is, being extremely worried that you will be caught or just being worried with for unknow reasons. I remember a girl I went to highschool saying she quit because it made her "panic."

I used to smoke weed a long time ago, but I don't recall feeling anxious. I seemed to have a low tolerance for it and got extremely high when the people I was smoking with only got slightly buzzed. I also think it made me feel depressed. Another thing was sometimes I did stupid things that got other people mad at me. I finally cut it out and I don't miss it.

I was reading "beatnik" writer William S. Burroughs once, and he said marijuana intensifies whatever feeling you already have and it doesn't matter if the feeling is pleasant or unpleasant. If it's good, it will be great, if it's bad, it will be horrible. That may not be true for everybody, but it pretty much sums up my experiences with marijuana, weed, or whatever you want to call it. The 3 Stooges or Popeye cartoons were the funniest thing imaginable, but if I felt bad or guilty about something; weed would make me feel so bad I couldn't stand it.

Hey,
The weed just made you feel what was already there. A lot of people smoke weed and all it does is make them stoned. You have an underlying issue that the herb made you conscience of. Remember that despite how people abuse it it is still an herb used to contemplate ones situation. I personally used to smoke a lot until it brought out the anxiety. I would still smoke every few months to remind myself that I am an anxious and confused person that has issues to work on. This keeps it from sliding under the cracks. In my opinion keep smoking weed, just rarely, to give yourself perspective on what your going through. Get some therapy or start dealing with your anxiety in some other way. Seriously just deal with it. Your anxiety when you are stoned is just a manifestation of your subconcious not the cause of your anxiety. Now work on it. I used to smoke a lot. As I grew up I got depressed and anxious for very different reasons. I have been working on it ever since. I have found that being miserable when stoned is a reminder that I still have problems and I use my negative experience as a catapolt to keep me moving forward. Kept working. Keep using marijuana very rarely to contemplate my life. This is what the weed taught me but to each his own.
Good luck on your own adventure.

Yes I have had that, you are not only anxious because it is illegal, don't be stupid...

Tell your doc, anything you say in there is private and confidential and they are not allowed to report you to any authorities....

When I smoked alot, and also a little bit after I stoped, I was very paranied and anxious... It will go away in time, although you will need to try to push yourself to get over it too...

Weed has been linked with triggering mental ilness, but it does not seem that bad... If you are worried and paranoid about it too then go along to your doctor, they can reassure you....

But bottom line, it makes people feel like this so just try to ride it out, and just try to realize they are not normall feelings and try to push past them as best you can....

And stop smoking.... ;)

Good Luck!

Yes, these symptoms happen with most users, especially when one consumes too much. Doctors are there to help, not turn people in. The idea of a Doctor calling the cops on a teenage girl because she told him That she used pot is pretty absurd. How long has it been since you quit? THC can stay in your system up to a month, and even though you might not have smoked in a while, you still have the drug in your system, possibly contributing to your lasting feelings of anxiousness. Don't worry, tell your Doctor if you want to fix this.

" You're only anxious because it's illegal." Hog wash. Yes weed can cause that. I get that every time. Unless I'm drunk. Pot is very bad for you. It cause all kinds of mental disorders.
This has been going on with me for a couple of years. I think it could be the insecticides growers spray on it I say this cause it seems to happen to me when I smoke swag.

There are very strong links between Clinical Depression, Anxiety and Cannabis use. You definitely should go to a doctor because fighting this one on your own is going to be a hell of a battle. However, you don't need to mention the cannabis use at all - tell them your symptoms, mention that you've been under a lot of stress and he should pick up on what the problem is - it's irrelevant what caused it.

You do need to understand that you do not function well with Pot and you will probably always have the same problem.

Your story is why I quit smokin' that stuff. It made me anti-social. If you are no longer smoking it, the anxiety is not from smoking weed.
