Lets take 5 men,all given directions to a specified location. All 5 differ,3 are very good and 2 are horribly bad people.4 arrived at the location and 1 didn't.What did they all have in common? The directions.
I used this illustration to say this. The good among us won't make it to Heaven because their good nor will the bad persons wrong prevent him from entering. You who say i'm a good person, i'm sure you are and we thank you?Have i caused you to think? You who think you're not worthy i say to you that you're worthy?Have i caused you to think? What was it that made all worthy? The directions. No,it was their obedience in following the directions.
This question is for my Christian family.Where is the1 that didn"t come?He was following the directions but he lost his way.Do you think you're more worthy than the others because you believe. We start with what we believe but we're led by what we know.Follow direction all the way to the location.Have i caused you to think?Think about it.

Tim that was an excellent rebuttal. They gave me a limited amount of words, I had to chop it up.Hmmm...I guess I should have thought about that.

Yutsnark that was brilliant.

Thx all of you.

Grammar, people, grammar!

The story makes a very nice little illustration once it is placed into paragraph form and delineated with topic sentences and all that.

My question back to you is this: what's the point of posting your question and story? As far as I know all the Christians already think that Jesus is the light and life and savior and etc., and they need his grace to be saved because they can't do it on their own. Hell, even the Mormons believe they need grace to be saved because works are not enough, and they're not even Christian!

You know, also, that you're not going to change the mind of a single atheist by posting some cutesy story out of a third-grade Sunday school workbook.

So get on with it and ask a question or tell a story that makes me notice something about it besides bad basic grammar.

I think I get your point: These are five *men,* right? And men *never* ask for directions. Good one!

I have trouble finding a place when given directions. But it depends partly on who is explaining how to get there. I have particular trouble when they give extraneous information. Like, "Go one mile east, then turn. You'll pass a McDonald's and a Sunoco station, but that's not where you turn. If you cross railroad tracks, you've gone too far." Sometimes they tell me to drive until I've passed five traffic lights. But that's often confusing too. Do they want me to count both the traffic light at the beginning and the end, or just one of them? And what about an intersection that contains more than one traffic light? In general, I'd rather use a road map than ask for directions. But maybe that's because I'm male.

Oh, to answer your question: Yes, you can get me to think. Sorry, I should have said that to begin with.

The Scripture says "All have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God." If the glory of God is our standard, nobody makes it. Nobody. Thats why God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to be the perfect sacrifice for the sin of all mankind. Does everyone accept and receive this Grace? No. Does that mean that Christ didn't die for them? No. But everyone has to make a choice. Do I accept the free gift of pardon that Christ died to give me? Will I turn from going my own way and start to live for God? Or will I continue to do it "My Way", and accept whatever consequences may come? It's your choice. Think about it.

That caused me to think that its getting too late to stay on Yahoo Answers anymore tonight.

Jesus Saves, salvation is a free gift, I am not worthy of it and never could be, I accepted that gift and it is mine. I will serve and follow the Lord all my life because I am thankful and I want others to come to know Him too. I never want to discredit my Lord and keep someone else from believing because of my sin, so I will follow and obey and lean on Him for the strength to do so.

Good night.

I didn't know what the heck you were talking about through the whole story because I got fed up trying to edit and proofread your text so it made sense. The only thing you made me think was, "WHAT???"

Spaces. They break up text. Have I caused you to seek out the space button? Spaces help the readability of text. Have I caused you to use the space button? Spaces are linguistically correct in written English language. Have I caused you to use the space button??

I think it is astounding that you believe people followed directions to a place that only exists in your imagination.

No matter how many cute stories people come up with, gods are still imaginary.

Have I caused you to think?

You have caused me to think. I think you need to seek the advice of a mental health doctor.
