So now we are to be called "Global Citizens", very 1984ish.
What I tell my children is that they should be concerned about their living habits, that they do not infringe on other people's rights, habits and beliefs.
I also tell them to not be drawn into believing unsubstantiated things that others hold as truth. Global warming in my opinion is still an unproven thing despite the efforts of politicians like Al Gore to make it a non-negotiable subject.
For thousands of years the earth has gone through these warming and cooling cycles and in a vast many of those years, man did not exist (if you believe in evolution).
Unfortunately for us, the truth won’t become evident until these blowhards have been dead for a thousand years. How arrogant of them to think that man is responsible for this alleged climate change. There are far more natural occurrences that influence the earth’s climate than man does. How does global warming cause the record cold weather we are reporting?
A close friend of the prophet Al Gore wrote a fictional book addressing the global warming myth. He is noted for his high level academic degrees and exhaustive research he puts in each of his works. His name is Michael Crichton and the book is State of Fear. He stated that he is a friend of Al Gore but he is totally wrong about this.
I’d rather believe a fiction writer than a politician with agendas.

Everyone should be concerned, this affects us all, not just 60 years from now, but today, because if we continue to be reckless as humans, the planet will have no choice but shake off its epidemic. I think we've had a couple of quiet years, but they are still much warmer globally than they have been in years past and although it would be nice to think that all this is going away, it is clear it isn't. The next ten year are unfortunately going to bring with it, more drought, more floods, more fires, more summer ice melt and stronger, unusual weather phenomenon. Also, more population along with ever increasing pollution and other problems we cause... it's only going to get much worse before (if ever) it will get better, but at least, if we all try to act more responsible as a species, to our planet, maybe we will ride this out. But again... this affects everyone, everywhere, some more than others, but whether you are a parent or a child makes absolutley no difference. Everyone needs to care about this (and I feel sorry for those who don't, especially when they keep helping to make more haste by insisting nothing is wrong, we can't POSSIBLY do anything wrong... yeah, thanks guys, and I'm sure the citizens of earth decades from now will be thanking you as well... not). Thanks for asking though.

it will be better if i say to them that those pollutions are the ones that causes global warming. educating your child towards the concerns is not full proof. for me, educating your child towards the negative effects of global warming is more proofed

ONCE AGAIN....
Global Warming MEANS "World Wide Warming!" It is ONLY A Political Term = NOT based in Real Science!
The EARTH is covered by "Three Quarters WATER!" Basic Science, it takes ONE-Btu to raise One Cubic Centimeter ONE Degree Centigrade!
HOW many "Gazillion Cubic Centimeters are there ONLY on the Surface of Planet Earth COVERED by 3/4 Water?"
HOW many Btu's would it take TO RAISE THE SURFACE TEMPERATURE ONE DEGREE?
DO THE MATH!
And, were are the Million TEMPERATURE MEASURING SITES on the Many Oceans THAT TELL US THAT THE OCEAN TEMPERATURES ARE RISING? Not!
Oh yes, POLAR temperatures have varied LESS Than one degree in the past 100-Years. Noticed I said VARIED, = NOT RISEN!
Thanks, RR

I would educate my children on the evil of Marxism and socialism. I would make sure that they know the history of capitalism. I would teach my children religion in accordance with the bible. I would teach my children to respect our flag and what it stands for.
That said, I would be proud if they knew the difference between the political hoax of this man made global warming that will probably destroy capitalism and new USSR (United States Socialist Republic)

I would tell them the truth.
I would teach them that global warming is a cyclical event, every 1500 years, and that we have had little, if any, effect on this event. I would also teach them that we would have no effect to reverse this event.

I tell them they were conceived born and raised without realizing that nuclear power plants were operating safely across the country and ask them if they feel any ill effects from them.

I would explain that it has been occurring for millions of years! Long before humans inhabited the earth.

Tell them to get ready for it. Don't kid them with ideas that it can be stopped. Figure out the best ways to adapt to and profit from it.
