do they view canada just as another country that is kinda like America, or do they actually see it as a former British colony different from America?



(and of course, sorry to generalize, of course not all britons have the same view)

We feel sorry for you guys having to put up with neighbours like yours.

When Canadians come to England we think they are American, but as soon as we realise you are Canadian we welcome you like the generous hosts we should be. We are not so fond of Americans.

Having visited Canada many times I see Canada as far more liberal a country than the U.S. with a far better educated
population, and that the current Prime Minister of Canada may well eradicate that very valuable difference.

Ox carts... Moosehead beer. Young lads from minor private schools sent out in the last century to keep out of the way of the rest of us. Mounties. Chief GreyOwl. Lumberjacks. That prime minister's wife who shagged Mick Jagger. Fascists and Vichy in Quebec. Lots of immigrants in Mississagua. Italian mafiosi. Feeding young women to pigs. Ice hockey. Kinda touchy with a bit of chip about the UK.
