I just adopted a new dog recently and love him! We had a little road trip and just got back and he's been puking a lot, but he seems very active. I am planning to take him to the vet on Monday, what could this be?

During the road trip he has had his head out of the window many times, could that be it? Could he be car sick?

Or maybe it's the food? Here's what he ate during the food trip
-cookies
-chips
-brownies
-a big mac
-beef jerky

Oh yes, also some cheese sticks

I will be taking him to the vet soon, do you have any idea why he's like this?

Ahhh, I'd say it was the diet he was fed while on the road trip. You shouldn't be feeding him chocolate of any kind, as this is very toxic to a dog. I can see why he's sick. It's like taking a kid to the amusement and feeding him everything he wants. Start him back on his regular food and the vomiting should stop and the next time you take him on a road trip, take along some dog treats to feed him while you pig out on all the other goodies.

I think I'm having trouble holding food down reading that list!
Hope you mean dog cookies, but it looks like you don't given that it is followed by chips (likely not liver chiplets), brownies (likely not dog bars), a big mac (please...do you eat those?), and then some human beef jerky (not jerky sticks), wonder how the salt was on his kidneys?

I would really encourage you to look into premium dog foods (Natural Balance, Wellness, Innova, Candidae and others) and healthy dog treats to give your dog. Please understand that his digestive system is entirely different from yours. Some of the stuff you gave could be dangerous, most of it is unhealthy, and all of it together could be related to the vomiting. The salt and fat content alone are nauseating.

The vet will help you sort it out and the cost is the price you pay for needing some basic education. You have a good heart to adopt a dog and take him with you. Likely he had a wonderful time. The next time you go make sure your brain is on board as well, and give your dog healthy food and treats to avoid unnecessary illness.

You aren't supossed to let your dog stick their head out the window. You should have the windows and doors locked in a car while driving with animals. They could get dust and whatever in their eyes or lots of germs. Especially if it's wintertime. Your dog probably has a cold or something.

And oh my you are NOT AT ALL supposed to feed cats or dogs chocolate or onions! Both can get them very sick and sometimes die!!!!! :(

Feel his ears and see if they are cold if they are put a blanket on your dog. Don't let him outside or something and treat him very well untill his vet appointment!

It's possible he his barfing to get that junk out of him! You should go outside and get some grass for him to eat to help him get that out!!

Please from now on only feed your dog food!!!

Chocolate can be fatal to a dog...stick to dog food rather than human food!
