so, I recently made out with this guy I like, I dunno if he likes me. but right when i kissed him he became hard, before I even touched him in that area, it was already hard when i went to touch him.....is that normal for guys? I thought most guys get hard only if you rub up on that area.

Nah, it'll get hard if hes sexually aroused enough, whether or not anyone touches it. Its normal in that he gets hard when sexually stimulated, its not as normal that he did it just by making out.
Its nothing to worry about though, it just means hes inexperienced. If he's a teenager, don't worry about it at all. If he's forty year old man, go ahead and never call him again.
