I stopped watching boxing a long time ago. MMA is way better. All of a sudden I look up and all the Heavyweight Champs are Russian. Most middle class Champs are Latin American, European, mostly from, England or Whales. Most tiny guys are Asian. Were are the great USA Champs at?

MMA is way better, eh? That's why everyone is talking about Hatton Mayweather? Where are the great American champs? No idea, but the global sport of boxing is healthier than ever, and pay-per-views are selling greater than ever. So you just go away and enjoy your 30 second superfights of half-naked men, oiled up, roided up, taking turns doing a move called "full mount" and leave the boxing fans alone. You do realize that your greatest MMA fight ever, Liddel Jackson, lasted exactly 1/3 the time Michael Spinks lasted against Tyson?

At 175 you got Hopkins (will most likely fight Calzaghe from Wales, I love Hopkins, but I think Calzaghe would win a close decision)
160 you got Pavlik (No competition from Europeans and Latinos at the moment)
147 you got Mayweather (Will beat Hatton for sure on Saturday, hopefully, LOL.)
135 you got Juan Diaz (born in Houston)
from here down is all Mexicans, Asians, and Pacific Islanders
"MMA is way better" HA HA HA!!! Don't get me wrong I'm a HUGE MMA fan and I have been watching it for years now, but IMO it is not better than boxing. Or vice versa for that matter.

as life gets easier, martial sports do decline. For example once upon a time boxing was the only big pay day sport for men to do.

So you see harder countries putting out more and better fighters.

That said it is still one of the biggest sports and under no threat from MMA, which is still dozens of times smaller money wise(they can;t even afford 200,000 pay days for their fighters).

MMA did the same thing kicboxing did in the 1980's. They both claimed to over take boxing eventaully but 25 and 15 years down the track respectively , they both plateuxed.

American boxing is on the decline, British boxing is on the rise. This might make a few Americans wince a little bit:
