If you accepted God only existed in the mind the that would be denying the existance of God; but if you deny that God only exist in the mind then you would accept either the possibility that God exist, or that you are certian he exist.

For an atheist sentimentalist, to take one an example, this statement is false on its face since we can perceive or know nothing outside of the mind. Thus, if you belief you have a relationship with God, then God must either be a supreme mind (this is the understanding of Bishop Berkeley) or a creation of your mind. Since your statement has no context, it has no real answer, other than ok, and what?
