Thanks but i know i can't enter as an au pair. You must be 26 or less and you are not allowed to work on the 6 month B visa. Only an American family can sponser you, hence the question can you work for a British family in the States : )

Hadn't realized you had to be under 26, but so you do. Your sponsoring family needs to be permenant resident but not US citizens, though. Still, that won't help if there is an age barrier to the category.

I don't know if there is a way unless you can teach at a school somehow as a cultural exchange worker. Otherwise, you need a temporary visa. However, all I know about is the H2 or H3(work must be incidental to training for H3) or a skilled worker visa (H1B and don't count on it.)

This is a tough one, no joke.

I didn't know we ruled anything out based on age, though.

Unless you are accompanying the family (and eligible for a B1), you need an H2B visa.
