Supposing that there is solid evidence that there is in fact a God, what would be some arguments (viewpoints) that might disprove this theory? As in physical evidence.

Plz dont say, "Well, there isnt solid evidence anyway so dont worry about it." I want someone to PROVE to me beyond reasonable doubt in his/her own words that God doesnt exist, b/c I have heard plenty of people prove to me how He does, and I like to hear both sides of the argument before I make an assumption.

Also dont say, "Well it depends upon what that person said to you." B/c We are assuming that what the person said is solid evidence. Just give me actual proof that he doesnt exist.

Well if we had hypothetical evidence, how could we refute it? That makes no sense. You have to give the 'proof' before it is disproved.
I guess your hypothetical proof is disproved by my hypothetical rebuttal.

If I had a dime for everytime this question gets asked ...

Okay, here goes. I cannot prove that God does not exist but I think I can easily prove that God as you define him does not exist. Here are the assumptions you make about God:
1) God is omnipotent and omniscient - he knows all and can do everything
2) God answers prayers
3) God is good (all the time)

Now, we all know lots of Christians who claim that prayer helped their Aunt Sadie when she was diagnosed with inoperable cancer and other such stories. These miracles are attributed to prayer. So lets take the case of amputees. We will assume that over the years many amputees have prayed for restoration of their limbs. In 6,000 years of recorded history its never happened. So we have only a few options:
1) God doesn't answer prayers (defies # 2)
2) God can't cure amputees (defies number 1)
3) God cares about Aunt Sadie but not a single one of the amputees (defies number 3)

There is one simpler explanation. When amputees pray for a limb to be restored there isn't anyone to hear that prayer. It is a much more elegant explanation for the observations. Aunt Sadie, well some people do recover from cancer, it can and does happen.

If someone gave you 'solid evidence' of the existence of a god, I'd very much like to hear it, as would most other atheists, I'm sure. As for proving the opposite assertion, it is a logical impossibility to prove a negative.

Listen. If God Almightly HIMSELF doesn't want to reveal himself to his ultimate creation (we the human beings), then there is NO way we humans can prove his physical existance, if God himself doesn't wish to. Look at the universe around you. Doesn't it strick you how everything in the universe is connected to each other: a divine plan. We can find out if God exists once and for all AFTER death. (but, by then it will be too late)

For those who don't understand the question...
While you can't prove a negative, you can demonstrate a logical impossibility. That is what you are looking for - someone who can demonstrate that the existence of God is logically impossible. I'm with you - there are plenty of arguments that support the existence of God. What we need now is proof that he cannot exist (notice I didn't say proof that he does not exist).

There are three possibilities regarding God.

1) God doesn't exist. Therefore, it would be a mistake to worship him.

2) God does exist, but is immoral. An immoral deity should not be worshiped. Therefore, it would be a mistake to worship him.

3) God does exist and is moral. A moral deity would not want to be worshiped. Therefore, it would be a mistake to worship him.

All three possibilities lead to the same conclusion. The existence of God is therefore irrelevant and worshiping him is a mistake.

Actually, I want to hear this proof that convinced you he does exist. As you have already had a gods existence proven, what assumption are you going to make? You've already made the assumption that god exists.

I am a Christian and I have always believed that God exists. But I don't think that there is any way to prove that He does or does not exist scientifically with 100% certainty. That's why they call it faith.

Fallacy fair, anywho You want us to prove God is not real, okay, God is everywhere at every time, always, so if God is real Let him post a reply here and now, God Please Post a response to prove you are real?? So is that enough physical proof he doesn't exist, if your standing next to someone poke them see if they exist, if they react they exist, so if God is everywhere at all times, he is watching you type and me type, so poke him, oh can't see him, then ask him to respond all the physical proof is right their

Here is proof from God's word:

Hebrews 11:1 - Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:3 - Through faith we understand that the worlds were ramed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear.

Romans 1:18-22 - For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness; 19 - Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath shewed it unto them. 20 - For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse. 21 - Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened. 22 - Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools.

God gave us proof of His existence: everything you see all around you: creation. It's a shame that many STILL don't believe in God, even after looking at all that God has created around them: the oceans, the beaches, the mountains, trees, animals - humans.

2 Corinthians 5:7 - (For we walk by faith; not by sight:). This is in reference to basing belief on your physical eyes rather than having faith in God. Just because we don't actually see God with our physical eyes, does NOT mean He doesn't exist! Atheists base their belief on whether or not they can actually see God physically, but they don't realize that it's by faith in God, our Creator, that we believe in Him - :D
