If you really wanted to get deployed your best choice would be either Marines or army but it also depends on your MOS.
Alot of times you wont have a chance to shoot back over in iraq. Theres alot of IEDs and most of the shots that are taken at you will just be of the hip type shots. You cant shoot unless you now where the enemy is. The media would be all over you if you shot into a crowd thinking that is where the shot came from.
If i was was a real piece type i would fire back still because it is either your life or his.

War is indeed war. We are unfortunately not fighting any right now. If need be, I would kill as many people as necessary to accomplish my mission. If attacked, I would obey simple logic and shoot back.
The National Guard is not a branch of the military.

since I was a little kid, I always wanted to be in the Army, when I was 17 I signed up and joined because the Iraq war had just started and I wanted to get in on it. I went there and was there for 16 months and did things that I never thought I would do. Tankers!

If I was eighteen years old, I'd choose the same career path again without a second thought. I've served in the Army for over 26 years and am nearing the end of my career.
During my time, I have never met a Soldier that I didn't think would fight when the time came. I've also never witnessed a Soldier not fight when he needed to. But then again, I've spent my career with combat arms Soldiers.

While war IS war and has been around for thousands of years...I am personally not a "fighter"....I'm more love than hate and even if its for a "good" reason- there's NO way I could justify taking someone's life. When I was younger, I wanted to be Marines, but have since changed my mind and am going to become a psychologist. I suggest for you to follow your heart and do some research...like you are ask around and talk to friends and family. Good Luck...

I would, if I was drafted, go to the Army. I don't know how many men I would have to kill. I would hope I wouldn't have to kill anyone, but I believe, that in war you must kill at times and I would serve my country gladly.

I did join the Army
And you can't just shoot someone because you want to, we have Escalation of Force and Rules of Engagement. Meaning you could go to jail if you shot someone who was not showing hostile acts towards you or coalition forces. But like everyone in Iraq, if someone has an RPG pointed at you, you're going to return fire, or if you know they just detonated an IED......

If I needed to kill for the right reasons, I would join the Army; if my intentions were to only kill those who created the war. I would do what I had to, to protect those I loved and cared for.
