I imagine your mother knows, or suspects, and chooses to ignore it for now. Regardless, telling her may give her truth, but no comfort. Most people want to live their lives on terms they are comfortable with, and tell themselves little lies to make it liveable.
I would wait until your mom ASKs you if you know anything, then tell her about what she asks. If you volunteer the info you're just butting into her private business.
Just my opinion.

That is really twisted to put your BF in a situation like that. The next time he starts talking about that, your BF should say (firmly and fairly loudly), "Why are you telling me this completely inappropriate information??!! If you don't tell her yourself, or stop talking about it, then I will tell." Then do it! What a dirt-bag! BF gets bonus points for being a little loud - JUST loud enough for you mom to hear - if this takes place when your mom is in the house.

Your step dad sounds like a ****.
if you are honestly concerned for you or your boyfriends' safety that your step dad will "get him bad" then make sure you are both safe first.
your mum needs to know, because it is just NOT right, but you really need to make sure you have evidence, or at least have your boyfriend with you, to back you up. dont say anything infront of your step dad, but quietly talk to your mum.
Just make sure your step dad isn't a threat to anyone.

Boy! What a tough decision! Maybe you could lead your Mom to discover this information herself. Maybe you could ask for her advice as to what she would do if your SF messed around on her. Other than that you could just tell her. If she leaves him your BF can take out a restraining order on your SF.
No matter what, your BF should tell your SF that he does not think that it is respectful to cheat on your wife/GF and although he is free to do as he pleases, he (Your BF) would prefer not to hear about it. Then tell him that if he persists in involving your BF then no information is private and can be shared with everyone.
If the man is cheating on her and threatening your BF, who wants him around?

I am a mom and I would want my daughter to tell me if she knew this. So yes, you should tell your mom what you have heard.
Most of the time the woman already knows this but does not want to face it.
Good Luck

I'd let her know everything that was said. Then if she were smart, she'd have his ugly *** out the door as soon as possible!!
