I know he's probably out his $,and yes, coulda been worse,I just feel kinda bad for him,he paid for it himself, worked a lot of hours for basically nothing. It just bites as a parent to see your kid get ripped and not really be able to do anything. All I do know is the kid told him it would run,and it ran long enough to get home, and thats pretty well it. I dont even know how long of a trip that was

Well I figured its really a loss on his part, but I felt I had to ask around so hopefully he will learn from this. And like I said,I know it coulda been worse money wise, but $450 did hurt him quite a bit

Is it legal for a 14 year to sell a car? That might be a technicality you can check out.

You might be able to take it to small claims court if it was really misrepresented, and you have some proof of that in writing. But, for $450 and a 20 year old car, what did you expect? (Which I suspect is what the judge would say too.)

Chalk it up as a lesson, and not a particularly expensive one at that. If it's nickel and dime work, your son should be able to do it himself, and learn something in the process. If not, well, you've got yourself a trailer-park style lawn ornament.

Sorry, but your son bought a used car for $450. What were you expecting? It is the buyer's responsibility to determine the condition of a car before buying it. You shouldn't be mad at the seller. I'd be mad at my son for throwing away $450 on a piece of sh*t.

Lesson number one. Never buy a car from a14 year old. What's he doing with a car at that age anyway. Go after the kids parents Rule number two. No car you buy today for $450 is going to run. Rule number three NEVER buy a Honda.

CHECK THE LAWS IN YOUR STATE BECAUSE A PERSON CANNOT LEGALLY BUY A VEHICLE UNTIL THEY ARE 18 YEARS OLD BUT I DON'T KNOW HOW THIS WORKS WITH A SELLER BEING UNDER THAT AGE.

ITS BEST IF YOU CONTACT YOUR LOCAL (DMV) DEPARTMENT OF MOTOR VEHICLES OFFICE, THEY WILL BE ABLE TO ANSWER ANY AND ALL OF YOUR QUESTIONS AND AT THE SAME TIME YOU WILL BE GETTING THE CORRECT ANSWER TO YOUR QUESTION.

well those are teh things taht should have been checked when you were buying it. you have to acutaly test the car out.. and if them two had a written statemetn about everything, then go refer to taht.. but ANY used car is AS-IS. if it doesnt run when you buy it .. it doesnt run.. adn cant do anyhting agaisnt taht.. atleast anythgn that will hold up.

You can't do anything unless you signed some type of warranty agreement.
If there is no signed agreement, your stuck with the car....
