I asked this question last week, & we give her toys to chew on, & she gets a thrill out of biting people so hard that they bleed. She bit me like 4 times just now. I almost cried. She bit my friend (her aunt), & broke her skin & made her bleed. Help! This baby is a possessed devil.
The baby eats NON-STOP if her 17-y/o mom lets her. My friend is 29, & I'm 24. The baby's mom feeds her nothing but fast food, like Jack in the Box, McDonald's, etc. The baby likes to bite & eat. & when she can't bite or TRY to eat YOU, she falls out & throws a huge fit, like as if someone was abusing her.

Don't bite her back - what's with you people? She's a *baby*, and it sounds like she's not being taken care of all that well.
The next time she tries to bite you, GENTLY tell her "Ow, biting hurts", and make a really sad face. Immediately redirect her to something more appropriate. Try "would you give me a hug instead?" (if she knows you well), or "let's play this little piggy [or read this book, or play with this toy] instead", and then just start playing with her. Better yet, play with her and give her some positive attention *before* she resorts to biting.

It does sound extream but yes bite back. It sounds like she does not understand that it hurts when she bites, so make sure you make her cry. Now some kids will inturn make this a game. My cousin's son did. She started pinching him when he bit her. Good luck and hopefuly she will grow out of it.
I am not even going to address the fast food issue other then, we wonder why all the kids are overweight.

My boy was a biter. I tried the "no" thing, I tried toys, I tried biting back. What finally worked was flipping his lip (put my finger behind my thumb, then flick it out) when he bit. I know that is mean, but I couldnt stand it anymore. It took a few times, but it was the only thing that ever worked. YEs, I was consistent with the other approaches!

the best solution to the biting,is to bite her back, hard, just enough so she feels the pain!and tell her"see?it hurts!!"and also tell her that everytime she bites you,you will bite her back!it has worked for me!my nephew never bit me again!
if she falls and throws a fit, smack her on the behind!and then don't pay attention when she screams bloddy murder!a good slap on the behind has never hurt anybody!and junk food is not healthy for the child!she should be eating fruit and veggies and drinking milk!

Bite her back, not hard enough to break the skin or bruise her, but hard enough that she will be uncomfortable for a few seconds and maybe understand that while it may be fun for her it isn't for the people that she is biting.

When I worked in a daycare, a little girl always bit, mostly at home. Her parents had enough and the dad bit her back. She never bit again-ever. I am not sure about this method, but it worked on her. I am sure if they see how bad it hurts, they will stop. I got lucky, I don't have any biters!!

No baby is a "possessed devil". It sounds as if you aren't really fond of her mother either. If you really don't like your friend's niece that much, don't hang around her. She's not your child and not your responsibility.
