I'd buy the track back from the guy who just bought the Rock, and get it done, get it back on the schedule where it belongs, or build a super speedway in Myrtle Beach, SC all my friends, and cousins back there would love that.. Tons of Nascar fans there.. Yes I do live in Calif, but heck I'd want a track with the stands full..

In my back yard!
I'd have a dirt 3/8 mile and a dragstip. But I've been thinking lately that a dragstrip is 3/4 of a mile total(1/4 race and 1/2 mile shut down) so now I'm just thinking like a burnout box, staging/start line and a 60' finish line fully timed with around a 300' shut down area.
That way all my friends could practice the tree and race for reaction times and 60' times. That's where drag races are typically won. It would be my own practice tree for the real strip!.
The dirt track would require some paramedics etc. for the same quality cars as the practice pad but If my friends wanted to flip there "daily" racing on new years eve............as long as they signed the papers 'why not'!
We'd just laugh about it later.

actually there was talk of this a few years back. nascar was looking into running indoor tracks with 1/4 sized cars,i believe the track was going to be a wooden track that was to be taken from event to event. the events where going to be in arenas or civic centers kind of like arena cross of the moto x world. the slingshot division of dirt (1/4 sized dirt modified's) is the closest example of these types of miniature cars i can think of. if memory serves me correctly jeff gordon was for this and may have been involved in some form. i cant remember all the details and if someone knows where to find this info please email me with it. (i cant seem to find any accurate nascar info on this). but anyhow it fell through and i haven't heard any thing about it in years. i do believe that it wasn't billed as a event the stars of nascar where going to race but a attempt to get another form of grass roots nascar sanctioned racing up and running. the cars would have cost around $6000 turn key. again this is from memory, i could have some facts wrong.

Definitely here on Long Island, NY out in Suffolk County. Plenty of room (closed military facilities and old defense plants come to mind). Close to NYC for Corporate sponsors (and the Hampton$$$). Traffic is the catch.
Plus, most of the drivers love NYC, so they would be up for it.

I would build one in Colorado and have the Mile High Racing Series there. My track would be an oval but would be 2 miles long and go up hill and down hill. Just think of all the extra things the teams would have to deal with!

Well since i live in Fort Worth and we already have one, I would consider putting one in south Texas. Either Houston or Corpus area. I think with the population in those areas it would widen the fan base and bring a venue closer to already existing fans.
