I don't see many young preachers, but I would like to be one, besides having a good message and being an example, what else might I want to think about before diving on into it?

He could give all the sermons he wanted if it is good. No one under 30 years old should be a pastor of a church unless they just cannot get someone else. If they are filled with the Holy Spirit and preach under the anointing that is great. I love to hear good Spirit-filled preaching from anyone at any age.

There is a big difference between a preacher and a pastor. A preacher gives sermons but is not necessarily a pastor. A pastor is both a preacher and a pastor. A pastor is over a group of people or a "flock". He is responsible for them as far as making sure he does everything in his power to make sure all their spiritual and some physical needs are met...

Preaching/ Faith is about what inspires you. ive been inspired by my 6 year old nephew. so if your message that you are spreading is strong people will care about your word not your age, i think a preacher gives his outlook on the bible/religious book and helps people that didnt see it that way to take it in so if you can do that start today right now remember even if you only reach one person it was worth it id say go for it, As far as where to start , start at your house of worship, talk to your preacher and ask for some time during his mass/gathering. Good luck!!!!!!

I would consider sitting under some seasoned minister for a year or two to gain experience. I know many young people with a wonderful message but they need leadership skills. People can eat you alive especially if you have never done this before. You could end up quitting before you even have a chance to prove yourself.
Two examples from the Bible are--Jesus did not start His public ministry until He was 30 years old; and Paul sat under Gaemial for 14 years before he started in ministry. Also Moses did not start what God had called him to do until 40 years after God appeared to him in the burning bush.

Um, I say go for it, if you feel as though you've been called by God to be a preacher, than those abilities to do so and talk to the people of God will come naturally. But, I don't say become one just because you wanna be the 1st 20 year old preacher, I say do it because you're driven and you believe it's what you've been called to do, in life.

I think anybody can spread a good message, so go ahead and go for it. However, I wonder how much you will be able to advise people on life issues (marraige, etc.) given your young age. In your studies to become a preacher, will you be taking courses on counceling? If not, maybe you want to pick that up on the side. Good luck.

With the group I fellowship all men of the congregation take turns giving prayer, giving communion and giving lessons. We are all preachers and no one is paid. Our youngest has been sharing this duty since he was 14 so sure why not a 20 year old.

Scripture says that a neophyte should not be promoted to the clergy. There is a lot more to running a church than delivering a good message. A 20 year old lacks the life experience and the maturity to compentently govern a congregation. He should at least earn a Masters in theology at a reputible university and serve an internship under an experienced pastor.

Well, when you are in your 20's, you can't really give a lot of advice since you are probably lacking in the "real world experience," in a lot of peoples eyes, but do not let that deter you. Everyone can have valid points regardless of age, just don't be surprised to find yourself fighting those types of stereotypes... However, if you are gearing yourself towards a younger audience, teens for example, i'm sure you will have plenty to share. Just remember to be able to associate with your target audience

Life experience...it is important for a pastor/preacher/man of God, to have experiences to put the word behind........a 20 year old just doesn't have that. My advice is to be a youth pastor or something, get some more life experience and then spread the word when you get some more life experience.

There are some young preachers, but I think in the past there were more. I recently read that currently most people going to seminary have already had another career. If you feel called to do this, go for it. More Power to you.
