sit down and talk it out with your mom. If you like to sing and just don't want to for her wedding, i would listen to your mom, because its going to be like cool to tell your kids that you sung at your moms wedding, unless you already have kids.....maybe grandchilderen

No, If your mom wants you to sing at her wedding then it should be an honor to do so. She is proud of you and you must have a great voice for her to ask this of you. It will not kill you. Think of all the things she has done for you in your lifetime. This is one way you can give a little back to her.

I would sing. If thats what she asked you to do. If you would rather read a poem I would suggest running it by her first so that she knows ahead of time. Who knows, maybe she will be all for it!

If you are really uncomfortable singing then ask your mom if she would be really unhappy if you read a poem instead. Tell her why you are uncomfortable...however, if she wants you to sing then why not?

Probably not. Ask her, but it is not your wedding, it is hers. You are obviously very important in her life and wants you to do this for her on her special day. Just bite the bullet and do it for your mom.

Songs are just poems with rythym to them. Try making the poem into a song. That way both of you would be happy. :D
