would you swear to protect religious freedoms?

Yep!

It's in the constitution.

My choice to not adhere to a religion is protected by it, so is others' choice to do so as well, as long as the practice of their religions does not break any laws.

An openly atheist presidential candidate would be wasting his time. There's just no way that such a candidate could be elected in this benighted country. That being said, I would swear to protect and defend the constitution, which includes freedom of religion.

If they ran because they truly believed in America and its fundamental Constitutional right, then yes, I believe they could. It's not about what you believe personally. Atheists have their belief system as do those who are religious. Any worthy candidate for office would swear to uphold religious freedoms because that's one of our Amendments. Religious freedom doesn't mean the rule of a faith over our country. Religious freedom means the right to worship as one sees fit. THAT'S what religious freedom means.

I'm not an atheist, but I am guessing Yes, because atheists are one of the most persecuted religious groups (after Muslims post Sept 11) and terribly out numbered.
What scares me is the Christian right (who, btw, are neither).

yes, most definitely. Why wouldn't I want to protect our freedom of religion, the very reason this country was founded?

Sure. It's part of what makes this country great. I wouldn't allow church and state to mix, but if someone in America believed in some religion it is his right to do so and I would be sure that he could.

Of course, if I had any sense. But I'd be a terrible president, the power would go to my head so I won't run.

Well I don't think that's one of the main topics we're worried about in America right now..Bigger things to protect..Like our borders and such

If I ran for president, I would fight to preserve freedom of and freedom from religion. I would also fight to keep religion out of schools and government.

Yes, but I would also stress freedom from religion.
