I have come across spelt bread, and spelt based breakfast cereals at my local supermarket. I now prefer spelt instead of normal wheat products. Do you prefer spelt to normal wheat, and have you noticed a difference in health?

I have eaten a lot of spelt, mostly because my mom is really into it. She read some diet book that said she shouldn't eat regular wheat, but eat spelt. It is like the ancient version of wheat. I guess it is healthier and more nutritious. Spelt pasta is really good! I made her a chocolate cake with spelt flour for her birthday. She loved it, but I'm kinda used to the real sweet unhealth processed stuff, so I was not a big fan.

Spelt flakes are delish! I've never tried the bread, but it sounds tasty.

Spelt is a sub-species of wheat, so I doubt the long term effect on your health will be much different.

I came across it by accident through eating Dorset muesli, which by the way are delicious!
