No way.....then if you do that give also an advance gift for their first wedding anniversary or first baby ,,it isnt but right to do such.....our common sense says.each day or month or year has its special memorable day and equivalent gift for it, but we never put one day with one ocassion to another..so not right..just give them the christmas gift when they should be really and so for the marriage..........this proverb is not applicable here now...ok???otherwise you will be mistaken as "stingy" or "opportunist".............

I think getting them something from the gift registry is a good idea. You know they want or need that item. No one ever gets all the things that are on a gift registry, so I doubt others will run out of things to get them for the wedding.

Do you mean in lieu of a wedding gift? That would be pretty tacky. But if you mean buy them something on their registry for Christmas and then something else on it for a wedding gift, I think that would be appreciated-then they get stuff they wanted.
