I bought a bass amp off of ebay and a girl shipped it to me without a box. She says she taped the power cable to the top but I did not receive it. I asked her to refund $20 for a new one, but she says that it's not her responsibility. Any suggestions?

I buy a lot of stuff on ebay. IF you paid for it via Paypal, I would suggest you file a complaint and note that item is not as described and is missing parts. Paypal will contact the seller and eventually upgrade it to a claim and will refund your money. Note that it IS the responsibility of the seller to send all neccessary items so your electronic device can be used. To refuse to do so is a violation of the terms of use on ebay. You might also go into live chat with an ebay representative and they will give you a link to file a dispute. IF you charged the item on your credit card, contact your credit card company and file a dispute. I had a problem with an unresponsive seller who kept giving me excuses why she couldn't send a monitor cable. When I filed a claim with paypal, she suddenly had the time to send it to me.

I guess you didn't pay for insurance...

Leave her a piss poor feedback on e-bay so others will know how casual she is about ensuring items are shipped properly.

Go to a used electronics store and buy another power cord.

(I really don't think the post office would even take the amp with a cord TAPED to it... I'm amazed they allowed it to ship without a box... Oh well, make it a NASTY feedback on e-bay)

I think she's BSing you about the power cord.
Call your local post office and ask them if they'd accept it shipped that way, and if they say no, file complaints at ebay and paypal (if that's how you paid.)
I'm an ebay seller myself, and jerks like the one you encountered are a bad reflection on all of us. Shame on her!

All you can do is report her to E-bay for fraud (if you think she's lying) or give her a very low rating. Unfortunately, when shipping items the only protection you have is if the item is insured. Did she insure it?

If so, maybe you can recover the money for the missing piece.

Otherwise, you are out the money - very hard to recover since she says she shipped it.
