I just dropped out of college for violin because I realized I wasnt going to make any money in it but still would love to do it as a serious hobby. My favorite form is quartet, but I have one big problem...I am only one of what should be four. I need a first (or second) violin, a viola, and a cello in Florissant MO area(near stl). If anyone on here would like to join me, or if you know of a better way to look for musicians, please let me know.

Advertise on Craig's list, and put notes on bulletin boards at local libraries and colleges and music stores.

this can be very confusing (counting on the position you stay and what variety of song you're into). I met my band by way of putting a myspace ad - there have been no proper close by musicians. I stay ninety miles from some thing else of my band.

Go to the music stores in your city and ask if you can post fliers for musicians to audition for your quartet. You can also post in the Music Department of the Universities in your city.

Don't waste your time on bandmix. They trick you into signing up for "free" but then want a credit card when you go to contact a musicians. Try a real free musician classified site like http://www.MusiciansConnect.net
