For too long he has been doing me wrong, and tonight, i want to end it between us. But I KNOW he's going to come up with something...
How can i make a clean break?

Need a little more detail. It's as easy as just walking away from the person. You don't even have to give them a reason why. However, from your question, it hints that you just can't simply do that. So I'd say make it abundantly clear to him that you no longer feel affection towards him as you feel he hasn't shown you any for quite some time.
Not every break up has to come with a justification. Your unhappy... do you want to continue that or is it time to stop making excuses?

Are you sure you want to end it? If you go back, he is going to take you as a joke, so that's why he continue to do what he do to make you mad. There are emotions attachments, when you get in a relationship. It may take time to get over him, but maybe you can stay friends. If you decide to break up with him, occupy your time doing something, so you won't think about him.

The only way he is going to come up with something is if you let him or want him to. If you make up your mind to be done with him then just ignore what comes out of his mouth and dont pick up the phone and then its over. If you are too weak about it and let him talk his way out of it then you will be back in the same problems in no time.

I guess you mean he begs you to stay, and you give in??? So don't do it this time. Tell him it is over, and no matter what he says just repeat your statment. It is impossible for anyone to continue with their argument if you never make any other comment. Eventually he will get the idea.

if you really want something which is ending it with him then just end it, no matter what he comes up with. And honestly since you KNOW that he is going to come up with somethign then just be prepared to ignore it and do what will makeyou happy.
