It depends on the question, really. Some are short because the question is simple. A lot of response isn't necessary.

Some are long because a question may be deceptively brief, for example, "Why did Jesus make the water into wine?" or others of that ilk. True, some just give a lot of verbiage, but there are others who want to provide a rather complete answer. Some of us know that we may never get a second chance to answer your question so we try to give plenty of information, so that you and the other readers can pick and choose as you wish.

Well, because of the nature of the beast. Religion and spirituality are complex and very opinion-oriented. These are things for which there is no definitive answer; they require more explanation for the answer given, then say, a question in the food section. Also, people tend to get upset and rant when they have been offended or feel slighted.

Hope it's not too long. Have a good night (or day).

2 Reasons, "Rainbow": #1--Because R & S is a very complicated and personal choice, and it would be almost impossible to answer any question in that category with one simple sentence. And, #2--Because a lot of people feel the need to do the copy/paste thing with loads and loads of scripture.

There's 2 reasons....

There are people like me who like to give complete answers, especially when the questions are complicated. Sometimes you need to explain more, if you're unsure of the askers level of understanding...

And the other category is the cut and pasters. I'd hate to generalize, but they tend to be fundies, who just cut and paste half the bible to get their view out there.... and sometimes that actually try to answer a question that way too.

Short enough?

Because most questions require a more complex answer than a simple "Yes, I think so" or "No, definitely not."

That, or else we're all just long-winded around here.

they are usually long because many people have questions and often doubt religion and spirituality therefore when they ask questions about it the responses are normally long because there is alot to be explained about religion and spirituality

Because people enjoy posting huge chunks of scripture in the hopes of converting people. Which always brings the lolz!

There are not a lot of simple answers where religion and spirituality are concerned.
