you talk before the movie, then you have more to talk about after the movie. I can't think of a girl who wants to fo there on a first date, you will not get second dates. Not that women are shallow, but you won't be spending much time together serving others. That's fine once you have been dating, but you need to establish a relationship first.
You could go bowling with a group, mini golf, go for a walk, there are lots of things to do. Pack a picnic and go for a hike and then serve her.

Okay, that would be a good idea for......a few weeks later, but not on a first date. First dates are akward enough, so that's why a movie is good. If you are all BAM in her face with the soup kitchen thing (which is not a romantic first date) then you could scare her off. Heck, it would probably scare ANY woman off to be truthful. The soup kitchen thing is a good idea, but just not for a first date or a second or third date for that matter. So just use a combination of the two things (old school and your idea) and I think you will be able to effectively fill a person out for who they really are inside.

Yes, movies are one of those things where you don't talk. Do something that the both of you will have fun., like bowling or miniature golf. As far as your take on a date? No, a soup line is not an ideal date to know somebody. What I did to see if they were all about the money is drove a crappy car to all the dates. I heard the thoughts of the women I dated about my ride and weeded them out from their. The joke was on them. LOL

my husband of 30 years took my to dinner and then to a movie for out first date. It was nice. We talked during dinner and then could relax at the movie (sorta- we saw Jaws). It put a limit on the talking time and then we talked on the way home. Great way for a first date because you don't have to worry about talking a lot the first time... Good Luck.

on a similar time as ever there are relationship movies, teen movies, horror, w/e there'll continuously be somebody obtainable prepared to parody them. its for sure for the entertainment fee, and to 'rip off' what we've seen in a comedic way. i come across that I didnt get alot of the jokes from movies like frightening movie, having by no ability quite been a horror fan so i've got ignored all the flicks that frightening movie improve into parodying. I nevertheless stumbled on it humorous even with the undeniable fact that

Well if there's only going to be movies on the first date, then it's not the best idea. But, movie and a date at a restaurant would be good.

I don't think it's inappropriate but if that is the only thing you do that night then what was the point of going out on a date. If you want entertainment go to the movies with your friends but if you want to take her there at least go out after wards for dinner and the movie could make conversation easier and less awkward.

It's not inappropriate, but I agree that you can't have a conversation and get to know each other in a movie theater. I don't think the movies are a good first date option.

You should go out for something to eat after a movie. That way even if you can't think of anything to talk about, you can always talk about the movie you just saw :)
