No, you will first go through a zero week. You will be issued uniforms get your first Military haircut , revive your ID tags and ID Card, Listen to a lot of screaming and generally be moved around from point A to point B rather quickly.
And You will also learn your left from your right.
Have fun, I know i can look back at it and laugh.

You will spent a few days at the Reception Station getting uniforms, hair cuts and shots before Basic actually begins. Your MOS will be determined towards the end of Basic, most likely.

At my reception everything was laid back and easy going. Basic didn't official start till we had all our gear and had to go on a bus. That is when all hell broke loose.
Reception last anywhere from 3 to 7 days.

If you fly to boot camp or take a bus boot camp starts the second you are in route to training. As soon as you arrive at boot camp you will be put into formation and accounted for and will not be sleeping for about the next three-four days. Yes it starts right away from leaving MEPS more or less.

You have "one week" of reception, then on to the remaining 9wks. of basic. However reception could be shorter provided you get all your paper work ect. processed (which isnt really up to you, more to "them")

You will inprocess for about 4 days on the 5th your Grill Sgts will pick you up in a ctle truck and hell starts.
