THE PRESIDENT: My fellow citizens, at this hour, American and coalition forces are in the early stages of military operations to disarm Iraq, to free its people and to defend the world from grave danger.
These are the words that President Bush used to announce the attack on Iraq. They still ring true today, the key words being DISARM, FREE AND DEFEND.

We are in Iraq for oil but that's not the only reason. Without oil this country would be in a panic. We rely on it almost too much but we have to deal with it.
Iraq is like a stage to fight all the terrorists in one area. Terror groups are all over the middle east so it's easier just to stay in one country and fight all of them.
We have gone too far to pull out now. This war is different because the outcome will be determined on who is more persistant and who can wait it out. If we pulled out, all the progress we've made will go to waste. We have to make Iraq come together as a whole which is easier said than done.
I hope Bush thinks the same as me, and I would like to think that's why he feels so strongly about it. These lies that say Bush wants us over there because he profits from the oil are ridiculous. The same goes for the lies about Cheney and Halliburton. Most sane people know the truth and know that these two don't profit from the war.
We are winning the war. Everyday we make Iraq safer and eventually Iraq will be able to help themselves.

Yes, we should still be there. If we were there for oil, why would the gas prices be so high? We are there to secure freedom for people in need and to eliminate racist and other ignorant ideas. These ideas have to be stopped before they spread, because if they spread, so will terrorism. If terrorism spreads, people will live in constant fear and poverty. Just like they would if we were not in Iraq right now. We must reach out to people in need across the globe if we want world peace. The war on global terror is a war for peace and prosperity for each and every individual across the globe, and we can not do it alone. We are in Iraq for this purpose. It is a small part of the big picture. So yes, we should still be in Iraq.

I believe that we should be in Iraq, and these are the main reasons for us being there.
1. Hunting down terrorist groups
2. Setting up a democracy in the Middle-East
3. Helping the poverty stricken, violence tired people achieve peace
We aren't colonizing Iraq, we are occupying it to restore peace and self-stability in Iraq, and although the media doesn't want us to believe it, we are making progress. We shouldn't just hog our blessings in America of peace and prosperity to ourselves while other countries are poverty stricken and war-weary; we should give aid to other nations, like Iraq. If Bush wanted oil, he would get out so that the Middle-East would lower oil prices again. If he wanted power, he would conquer and keep Iraq and use the war as a way of getting more power. George feels strong about it because of 9/11; that terrible terrorist act happened during his presidency, and he feels that it's his responsibility to prevent any further terrorist acts, and I agree.
Even though the media constantly accuses Bush of doing everything for "power" and "glory," he stays in Iraq because there is no other choice. Unless the Iraqi government is establish and self-sufficient when we finally pull out, Iraq will be controlled by terrorists again, and the whole thing will turn out to be like the Vietnam war. Even Hillary Clinton and Nancy Pelosi were pro-invasion of Iraq in the beginning, and, no offense, them wanting to set up a time-line to pull out our troops shows how inexperienced they are with government. We should stay in Iraq and finish the job; it will be a huge step towards peace in the Middle-East.

No we are not there for the oil. And the reason we are staying is for the most part we as is the military not the U.S. public really want to help the people of Iraq get a better life. I just got back from a 14 month deployment there and the everyday Iraqi appreciates us trying to help them.

For now, yes.
No, we are not there for the oil.
To assist a country in raising a stable government and abolishing terrorism within it's borders.
To help the Iraqi government become self-sustaining and to get rid of the terrorist cells there and within the region.
President Bush feels strongly about the war because he is looking out for the citizens of our country and the future progress of the region which will affect our country for generations.

What happens when you take your finger out of the dyke? We are still experiencing terrorist acts all over the world from these nuts, do you realize what will happen? They are ignorant they will take it as a lack of purpose and an act of retreat from their "jihad" crap, they would whoop up the tongue wagging yodel and shoot off their rifles killing each other in attempts to celebrate their "victory" over the "great American Satan" OF COURSE WE NEED TO FINISH THE COURSE OF ACTION UP TO OUR SATISFACTION, that they are either beyond help-- or helped as much as possible to secure a democratic government for themselves.

We are not there for the oil.
We are there because the liberty we purchase for Iraqis there, translates directly to our freedom from attack here.
