In a way, yes. Your pupil size, digestion, blood pressure and heart rate are all controlled by your autonomic nervous system. The autonomic nervous system is part of your central nervous system and is divided into two types: sympathetic nervous system ("fight or flight") and parasympathetic nervous system ("rest and digest"). The two components are complimentary to each other. So, for example, the sympathetic nervous system will make your pupils dilate (get bigger) so you can see long distance, while the parasympathetic nervous system will make your pupils contract (get smaller) so you can see close up. The sympathetic nervous system will cause your heart to beat faster and more forceful while the parasympathetic nervous system would cause your heart to beat slower and less forcefully. Just think of how your body would react in situations where you were either fighting or running away, that is "fight or flight", or sympathetic response, while how you feel while you are resting or eating is "rest and digest" is a parasympathetic response. Since the two systems are complimentary, they act more like a dimmer light than an on/off switch, which gives your body better control in achieving homeostasis, or a state of balance.

wow, all that typing to not even answer the question. pupillary reflexes are obvious, just shine a light on your eye, the pupil constricts. Go in a dark room, it relaxes and dilates. Digestion has several stretch reflexes that trigger peristalsis, as well as gastric and pancreatic secretions. Blood pressure and heartrate are controlled by the same systems. For example, the baroreceptor reflex. Stretch receptors in the carotid sinus sense and increase in blood pressure beyond a setpoint, and increase parasympathetic stimulation through the vagus nerve to the AV node, which slow the heartrate, bringing BP back down. (If you have watched Greys anatomy, Yang used this to slow the heartrate of Meridith's mother by using a technique called a carotid massage, basically you rub the carotid sinus which stimulates those receptors) There are several others, but those are examples of each.

the two systems in your brain control some of the automatic reactions. It is the sympathetic nervous system that takes over when we are scared. We go into the flight or fight mode. Chemical flush into your body and get you ready to run or stay and fight. Your pupil dilate so you can see your attacker and also see better in the dark. Your heart rate goes up all the muscles in the body tense up and blood rushes give them energy to run.
