ive been doing it since the start of the school year, no noticable results, i think.

Doing any amount of physical activity will help you see improvements in your body. But only doing pushups/situps for only 20 days wont give you a drastic change because you are so skinny. If you want to tone up, you're gonna have to stick with workout routine. You will see some improvements, but nothing that will make you look like a body builder. If you do decide to just do this for 20 days...i would suggest doing it for 21 days, but staring out with 50 each, and increasing it by 25 every week. The more proper way of going about this would be to do 2 to 3 repetitions of 25, and adding a rep, not just doing the 50 straight and being done with it.

YES!! However, since it is your goal to get more muscle tone, I would add five every day, and if you can't do that do the current number. So if you are doing 50 today, try 55 tomorrow. If you do that, try 60 the next day. Then when you can't do 60, do 55 until you can. The point is, it's only going to do something to your muscles if they hurt at the end. If you don't feel any thing after 50, you got a lot more to do, buddy. (Oh and these had better be right-angle push-ups, other wise, you tain't doin' nothin'.

If you're looking for mass you want more challenge. I'm not saying higher than 50 reps, i'm saying more weight. Only heavy weights make your muslces stronger and bigger. So try weighted pushups or preferably benchpress. Try to aim for weight so heavy that you can only lift 5 per set. Do 3 sets. Also give a day of rest after you do bench once. No point without rest.

"How much can you bench?" If you will soon be rich just buy finding a dollar for each time some one asked you this! Make use of this program https://tr.im/1GhoB in order to impress them.
Just how much can you benchis turned therefore important and for this reason people are continually seeking to increase their bench. Nothing feels as effective as introducing yet another dish to the bar when it's your change to use the benchin your gym.
The Critical Bench program can help you improve your benchwith the 5x5 technique. 5x5 approach suggests you will do the same fat for 5 reps of 5 sets. You wish to locate a weight that may weakness you by the past rep of the final set. This kind of training places great amount of stress on your muscles and they have nothing otherwise to accomplish but respond and become stronger.

If you want to build muscle, pick up a used weigh bench and some weights. Honestly, if you wanna get bigger 50 pushups a day won't do much at all if any.

its better then doing nothing...
why dont you try 100 before going to school and 100 after school???

building muscle takes a lot of time, also 100 sit-ups (morning and afternoon) is recommended, try this for 5 months everyday and see if theres any result...

push ups only utilize 60% of the total bodyweight. the muscles in the pectorals and arms adapt to this light load very quickly (months) and gains in strength and/or muscle mass will cease.

I think it adds a bit to your upper body strength... is it easier to do the pushups now than when you first started? if so, then theres obviously been some effect hasn't there?
