If you HAD to eat a human to survive – and they were infected with the AIDS virus – would you be infected after digestion? What if cooked thoroughly? What studies have proof of this? This is for survival - so the person is dead.

Yes! Definitely! As a matter of fact, that is how AIDS got into the human population to begin with - people eating COOKED infected monkey meat in West Africa.

From my years in Anthropolgy studies I also learned that most cannibalistic tribes suffer from various afflictions that they get from their victims body parts (particulary the brain).

It's nature's way of ridding the planet of deviant people I guess (cannibals, I mean).

Rule of thumb, if it had a name - don't eat it!

I'd say your chances of contracting the AIDS virus goes up. Just as if you were to have the AIDS virus, put on a condom before engaging in intercourse, your chances of passing/contracting goes up.
Could I eat a human infected with the AIDS virus? Raw~I wouldn't want to, detesting the thought of cannibalism, one, and two, convinced I would contract the AIDS virus.
Cooked, I would still not eat a human, one for cannibalism and two for that tiny shred of possibility that science didn't catch along the way since 1982.
Cheers.

your not into necrophilia are you? lol. i think that after the body has been dead for a while the disease will die. this has no scientific backing or any real thought though! id rather eat frozen human bits rather than cooked though! i think it will lesson the taste more and you could just swallow it down when its still a little frozen and it will be easier to take! yeah i watched the movie alive a few times! so what!

I'm afraid I would have to call it a day, aids or no aids. I just don't think I could do that. Of course I wouldn't know until I was faced with the situation but just can not imagine that one.

Ewww! What a horrible thought, did you just study the Donner Party or watch Alive?!! If cooking destroys e coli, trichinosis, and samonila, you should probably be ok if you could cook him.

How funny, I just saw the girl above me answer, I'm not the only one who watches such movies!!

not if cooked...get internal meat temperature to about 180 degrees....well done...and you would be fine....all viruses and bacteria that can infect a human cannot survive that temp...thermophiles...bacteria designed to live in extreme heat temps can survive...but as far as i know there are no known thermophilic bacteria that can cause humans harm

If you ate any of their blood, then yes. However, the human digestion system cannot digest blood. So, you would be puking and have aids.
