Hi,

I am using Nissan 2000 Altima GXE car. I have a problem with the car remote.

My car remote has a "Lock" key which if pressed twice causes the security alarm to beep.

The problem with my remote is, even if I don't press the lock key it is generating lock signals . So the alarm automatically beeps. If I take the battery from my car remote I don't find the alarm beeping.

Can somebody suggest me what shall I do ?

Thanks in advance.

i believe that your car remote have a problem..
maybe its kind of stick or forced pressed that caused it to press by its self..

Ok your car will go in auto lock mode if you accidentically hit by the remote in error.

For example: You left something in the car and you are standing at your doorway and you are aiming your remote at your car in your driveway.

If your timer times out, your car will automatically "re-lock" itself. You can have the timer adjusted from your authorized nissan dealership.

I'd advise you to check your guide to replacing the battery, if that doesn't work you remote may need replacing.

A tidbit of info: Alot of the Altima's Intelligent key's are being replaced with new intelligent key as a service campaign. Note: you need to make an appointment and your car must be within this service campaign.

Which allows them not to do damage to your cell phone, should your cell be with your keys at any point of time.

Check it out at a dealer.

Should your remote need replacing? Dealer would be the better source. As you cannot use a friend's remote just because yours died. (Each remote is different as far as key codes go).

Anything to do with recalls? Recalls are VIN specific.

check your manual. Some cars will lock on a timer if the remote is close by...up to 3-4 ft. away.

Buy and introduce new remotes to the car I see them on E-Bay. If you need the remote reprograming instructions I can E-Mail them to you. jp.hudson@sbcglobal.net
