If you bought it for a song, it may not be valid. Quite possibly it has been used or installed already, in which case you will be unable to install.

Replace Lost Office Product Keys – Obtain a New Product Key
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/assistance/HA011508341033.aspx

To obtain a new product key for your Office program in the United States, call 1-800-936-5700 and speak to a Microsoft customer service representative. Outside of the United States, call the number that appears in the activation wizard.
When you call Microsoft for a new Office product key, have the following items available for the customer service representative:
The product CD-ROM
The computer on which you want to install Office
The readable parts of your original product key (if available)
The ProductID information in the registry

Suggest you call Microsoft (toll free) to determine if your CDs are genuine.

No one in their right mind would give out a product key. Anything that new can be tracked down. I know people that have had Microsoft representatives knocking on their front door for copyright infringement such as this. You best bet would be to contact whoever you bought the CD from to get the key, or you'll have to contact Microsoft and buy another one.

If your software did not come with a license key then you need to either return it to the store for an exchange, or contact Microsoft and explain the situation to them and see if they will replace the discs.

There are key finder programs out there that will find the key that is encoded into the disk. You will have to search for a 'key finder' and check that it can detect the key on an instillation disk.
