Use foil instead of wax paper. The wax will melt and the paper will get soft and be difficult to remove from the chicken. Just use foil.

Parchment paper uses silicone and is fine for oven use. The wax paper will start smoking and burning. Don't substitute the wax paper for parchment paper.

parchment paper is better because wax creates smoke and has a better chance of catching fire.

the wax paper will melt and you'll get wax on your food! My wife did that once by mistake when she was baking cookies. We ended up with wax-cookies instead of sugar cookies...lol

The wax paper is going to leave wax on your chicken, a nasty taste on it, and its going to stink while cooking. You can probably use foil to cover it.
