I agree with you also. The Halo series is the most overrated game I have ever laid my eyes on. All of those millions of people got hyped and it turned out to be a let down. The campaign mode in Halo 3 was like 4 or 5 hours long for Gods Sake! I can't believe it took Bungie 2 years to make a 5 hour game. Most Halo fans only care about the online multiplayer anyways.

A first person shooter game has never gotten as much hype as Halo. Before Halo, first person shooters, weren't really considered "great" games even though the gameplay could have been great. Halo is just another first person shooter and I don't see what's so special about it. But the Halo series will never be as great as God of War series, Final Fantasy series, and Metal Gear series.

Halo 2 was really great.

Halo and Halo 3 are wicked hyped up.

COD 4 is probably the best online shooter to date. It needs some new map packs though.

I know what you mean, it's a good game and multiplayer's fun but it's not as good as it's made out to be. To me it's just marketing and hype more than anything. This guy wrote an article on what he thinks are the top 10 most overrated games and he puts the Halo series at number 1 and he actually makes some good points:

i might deffinatly ought to accept as true with you. I too very own the two between the video games and did love taking part in them, yet human beings merely get so caught up in this loopy whirlwind of Halo Heaven. Its a solid sequence yet i think of a few human beings merely ought to positioned the controller down and bypass take a walk.

True, it is overated. I have all 3, they are great games but their not all that. I have all the unreal tournaments and they run circles around halo. Its microsoft that make the game out to seem revolutionary.

I agree. I traded my friend my psp for his xbox and some games, Halo included. I got pretty bored a few hours into Halo and put it down and never picked it up again.

Honestly, you may not like the game very much, but...

if people like a video game, then obviously, it's a really good video game. The whole point of a video game is to entertain people, and if those people LIKE the game, then it's obviously entertaining them. And if it's entertaining them, so much so that they SAY that it's incredible and maybe even revolutionary.

Anyway, I kind of agree with you, though. I feel like Halo is overrated, but at the same time, it is still a heck of an awesome game. It's kind of like saying Randy Moss is an overrated wide receiver. Maybe, but he is still one of the best of all time.
