I need to replace the automatic lock actuator on the door, and I don't have the shop manual. The poor old car is already pretty beat up -- I don't want to destroy the door panel trying to figure out how to get it off. Can someone out there tell me how to do it? Or if I'm supposed to tunnel in some other way, please tell me that; I'm just assuming you take the door panel off. Any hints or tips would be appreciated. It's a nice old machine... As long as I'm pestering, does anyone know where I can get the turn signal lens for the driver side front headlight? Parts are and are not available in the oddest patterns for this vehicle.

underneath the lower edge of the door panel are a series of white plastic clips. you pluck them out with a small flat blade screwdriver [4 or 5 of these] them remove the speaker cover and you will find 2 smaller clips of the same style [red in color] to be plucked out the same way.
of course there are a couple of screws and the power window switch[s] must be removed and disconnected as well as any release handle trim, before panel can be lifted and pulled off.
ipd usa. com. has had this lens listed in their catalog in the past but by now you may have to buy the assembly new; also aftermarket lamps are also available [ these are usually made in tiwan roc etc.] most times they fit fairly well and are usually properly wired but for the price some trimming and simple wire repairs are allowable. almost any body and paint shop can order this for you.
