what you are asking and the question you want answered aren't the same. Practicing catholics believe theirs is the one true church and to attend a church of another sect would be a sin. At least this is true if the catholic would take the teachings or "gospel from another sect seriously enough to cause him to question the teachings of the catholic church. The non-catholic would have less of a problem attending a catholic church unless the non=catholic is a southern baptist. Baptists basically believe they are the only group of people god will welcome into the pearly gates. So, this is a complicated question. To sum up catholics are christians and christians can attend any church they wish, but not entirely without guilt, albeit. Unless they are baptist.Attending the catholic church would be the best decision.

Other than the Orthodox, non-Catholic Christians are not allowed to take communion in a Catholic church. And since the pope relagates non-Catholic Christians as condemned heretics it would appear Catholics are not allowed to go to non-Catholic churches.

But of course many Catholics could care less about their religion.

Yes, try an Episcopal church. It's basically Catholic light.
The main difference is we pray to God and Jesus ,not Mary.
Don't have private confession (booth ). The priest can marry. Check one out, you might like it.

Where did the whole idea of calling Protestants "Christians" come from? It's Catholics and Protestants, not Catholics and Christians.

i should hope that both Churches would be excepting of the other. it would be a nice opportunity for one to learn more about the other. I am Pagan myself and i go sometimes with my Christian family to church, no one has ever told me that i can't go.
