im looking for some books with lots of old, preferbly black & white pictures from the 20s-30s-40s-50s of people in workwear type clothing, could be ranchhands, railroad workers, pretty much anything outside manual type labor photographs would be great! thanks

Try the paper in your area look for picture archives.

Visit your library and look for biographies of Dorothea Lange or Edward Weston or Paul Strand or Margaret Bourke-White.

You can also research the FSA (Farm Services Administration) archives from the Depression years. Roy Stryker was the head of the FSA and employed the photographers mentioned to document the work of the FSA.
