It is a sin to act on homosexual feelings. But no one should be identified by their desires. We are all children of God.

As an Lds I feel that God gives everyone trails to overcome in life and that This might be these peoples trial.
I do not know the churches official stance. The bible however plainly sets out that homosexuality is not condoned by God.
If they want to live there life that way it is there choice.
We will be held accountable before god for the choices that we have made when we are judged at the last day.

Let me differentiate between the act of homosexuality and homosexuals. Mormons believe that we are all children of God and have divine potential in each of us. We believe that we have been sent here to earth to gain a physical body, to live by faith, and to follow God's commandments.
We believe that God loves us, and wants us to return to his presence some day to live eternally with him.
In order to do that, he has given us commandments. These commandments are the means by which we can obtain happiness. I distinguish between those that "perform" homosexual acts and "thoughts or attractions" to same sex partners.
I do not see it as a "sin" per se to have same sex attractions, but see it as a sin to have those acts or behaviors.
Why God commands us not to engage in those acts, yet we find those with same sex attractions I cannot explain. I just know that there is a difference.
Mormons view the act itself different from the individual. Go and we love the person. But disapprove of the action.

that is an article that might help you.
Ironically enough, I just read an article written by the apostle David Bednar about this in one of the Church magazines called the Ensign. Bednar said that there are more important things about a person than their sexual preference, so you should not shun or treat homosexuals poorly. He said that homosexuals can live lives just as good as heterosexuals, that God loves them just as much as everyone else, and that they can still be faithful members of the Church. The Church believes that it is a sin to ACT on homosexual feelings (it says this in the Bible), but that is is not a sin to be attracted to the same gender. He said that If God MADE you attracted to the same gender, it is because he wanted you that way... but that he made you that way to test your faith and devotion to his word, as it says in the bible that marriage should only be between man and woman. So although it is not a sin to have these feelings, it is seen as a sin to act on these feelings-- but this same rule applies to straight couples too, because the Church says it is a sin to engage in sexual activities before marriage, although most people desire to ;).

As a Mormon I believe homosexuality is a sin.
I also believe that premarital sex is just as wrong.
I believe abortion is worse.
I believe drunkedness is a lesser sin.
I believe that there was only one sinless person who ever lived.
I do not hate homosexuals.
I do not hate people that live with their girl/boy friend.
I do not hate people that have had abortions.
I do not hate people that drink.
I do love Christ.
Although I hate the sin, I make every effort to love the sinner.
Some sinners are easier to love than others. An inability to have pure love for everyone as Christ taught is one of my many sins I am striving to overcome.

We believe that God created Adam and Eve (as it teaches in Genesis). We also believe that people have the right to choose their own path through life and believe as they choose - the purpose of our missionaries is too teach not brainwash. We also believe that the only being who can ultimately judge individuals for the choices they make in life is God (we believe in following the laws of the land and being judged by the them but that God is the ultimate judge). If that is the path that a person has choosen we will not judge them for that - however we will pray for them and help them and be their friends. In the course of my life I have made friends with many who are homo- or bi- sexual.

The same as most Christian believers:
"This message is intended for Latter-day Saints who are troubled with same-gender attraction and sometimes feel discouraged but sincerely desire to live a life pleasing to our Father in Heaven. You are a son or daughter of God, and our hearts reach out to you in warmth and affection. Notwithstanding your present same-gender attractions, you can be happy during this life, lead a morally clean life, perform meaningful service in the Church, enjoy full fellowship with your fellow Saints, and ultimately receive all the blessings of eternal life."
I disagree with their doctrine...but they are as tolerant as the vast majority.
