Although I have gone on maybe two dates in my entire life, I feel that it may be time to give it a try again now that I will have some more time. I haven't tried it since I was 23 years old about 5 years ago. It's pretty scary getting back into the "game" but it is kind of exciting as well. I still have a lot to look forward to: my first girlfriend, my first kiss etc. While some people tell me I have started much too late, I have so much more to look forward to than they do. I also have a lot to offer a woman! I am employed full time, I am educated, I am secure financially and I live at home with my parents and other adult siblings, which indicates that I am a family man :-) . The question I have though is this: Why do I encounter so much jealousy regarding my situation? More people actually mock it than respect it. I don't want praise but I don't understand the mockery, especially from girls my age. Clearly they are jealous for some reason or they wouldn't make the comments.

I don't think it's jealousy. I think they are put off by the fact that at 28, u still live at home with your parents.

It is ok bro, just live life and have fun. If they are jealous let them mock you and laugh when they do so you can laugh at them harder when you start doing the stuff they can't do anymore since they probably are married and committed to someone.

EDIT: Guys do not put him down, Jesus! Can't you see he is taking the steps himself! Smart lower his confidence in a time he so vitally needs it. Some of you answerers are lacking some common sense. Go for it John! Listen to cows_go_moo and sweetgirl too.

Ok, I was out of the house and married by the time I was 23. I started dating, at 15 . Have you even lost your virginity????!!I am 30 and I have 2 children, and yes, I did go to university, ( nursing).......Those are my accomplishments. If you are financially stable why are you still living with Mommy and Daddy??

Move out. No one wants to date someone who still lives at home at 28. Everything else though, don't worry about it but I suggest to not readily mention it until asked. I'm sure you have fine qualities someone would be interested in.

If you are financially secure, it may be time for you to get your own place, so as to be able to entertain a sweet young thing.

dont think they are jealouse but they probably just find it out of the ordinary... but dont pay any attention to them. Its perfectly normal. There are a lot of people that respect the way you have been, but maybe you probably havent encountered them yet. Its okay... dont mind them. :)

get a hooker, move out, and start drinking heavily to forget how lame the first 28 years of your life have been
