Grandparents need to pursue this on your behalf. This is pretty cut and dried actually. Both parents should be paying child support to your grandparents if this was a court ordered living arrangement. If it was not court ordered it gets a little more tricky but a good family law attorney would be able to get some financial support from your parents if you have proof that both your parents agreed to you living with your grandparents. Good luck to you! This experience will make you a much better parent than either of your ever were to you!

You don't say if you are living with another adult or on your own and you can't get either one to pay. You have to be 18 and it takes a court order to get them to pay and the courts won't listen to a 16 yr old on a child support case. Sorry but if you are staying with an adult that person has a get legal custody of you and petition the courts for child support from your parents and that doesn't guarantee that they will pay

They have to pay for your support until age 18.
You need to talk to the family court that handled your situation, or talk to social services to find out what you need to do next.
You might try talking to your guidance counselor at school because they have ways of accessing the system on your behalf.
If you can get this done automatically, and transfered to a bank account, without having to interface with the parents, that would be ideal. No arguing that way.
