Normally you don't get a cortesy car when your car is stolen - as there is no-one to recover the costs from HOWEVER you can buy a policy that will provide such a benefit - this is obviously too late in your case but many decent insurance brokers offer it as an optional add-on - and you never appreciate the value until you need to make a claim

You would find it very difficult to prove. You would have to prove the items were left in the car and could not have been stolen whilst the car was in your possesion. Also a service of the car may not include checking the glove box. So if the car had been rented out to another person prior to you reporting the missing items you would not be able to prove the next person to hire the car did not take the items. Finally you acknowledge yourself that the car was only "supposedly" serviced, even if the service should have included a check of the glove box this may not have happened allowing a future hirer of the car to have taken the items. The responsibility for the personal items left in the car was your own. You should have ensured their removal before returning the car.

Depending on your policy, I would think you should get one right away, You may have to pay out of your pocket and they reimburse you..check your policy.

Depends on if you signed up for that coverage. Read your policy or ask your agent.
